This is not a review of the teachers, who i appreciate. This school falsely claims low testing scores and purposely place higher level students and mixes them into lower-level learning groups to hinder their growth. They specifically target the children who live in zip codes that would qualify for Federal II Funding - especially Zone 1 zip codes. With Federal funding they can receive over $14 per day, per student. We were paying full tuition, 10k per child and donating/volunteering on top. So, in hindsight they wanted to use our zip code and falsely claim my Kinder was a low performer to gain federal money on top of all that!! How is that even legal? I was dumbfounded when my child was tested by the SEARCH AND TEACH staff on the2nd week of kindergarten and given a score of 3/10 and we were told by SCS that he may have a future learning disability. Much to their dismay, my child had been attending a stellar local tutoring club for over 4 months before the Discover staff tested him.. By the way, the Discover staff only had attended a 2-day workshop prior to testing kids for "learning disabilities" - none of them have the credentials to do this. The look on the Directors face when we had professional printed test scores that contradicted her scores was pretty telling that she was caught. They didn't stop there, we were emailed (many families were) and told that if we didn't sign our child up for Discover ($2,800!!) , then they could non-enroll or retain our child at the years end. We tried to decline the service because he didn't need it, but they wouldn't stop. We since left SCS, where we have now spent the rest of 2023-24 school year at another private school and our child has now tested 2x with the new school via STAR testing (national recognized test) and is placing in the highest tier for all tests/subtests. So, please beware of their Discover program! I'm sure it is helpful for the kids who actually need the help. It is not helpful for those who do not. Taking a child out of class during reading groups is never the solution. The head of the school board, the head of school, the principal and the director of the Discover program are all Incahoots. They are looking to access Federal Fundis by claiming they have high numbers of low performing students. Take a good look at their 20 plus page 5yr school plan. It all aligns with receiving this funding. I sure hope parents and students who are falsely used for funding speak up, report it, and/or leave.

All three of my children went from K-8. Excellent education!

Both my children attended the preschool and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Director Bonnie and her staff. This is what makes the school such a disappointment. There seems to be little focus on math and science and the teachers and assistants are cold. Nothing that you would expect from a "Christian" preschool. Bullying seems to be an issue as well. My child is of a different demographic than the majority of the other children and I can't help but feel this can be why. We were unhappy with both the school during the school year and during the summer program. Save your money and try some where else.
