    Good, caring teachers; good PTA, poor administrators; why so many staff changes and inability to retain great teachers?

    Recently I came to the United States with my 12-year-old daughter. I had English proficiency because of my parents, who were language professors at college and thought me how to use the English language how it is- so don't be surprised that my English is just like a native's.My child had an ESL teacher @ Dessau and she would come home to my shocking realization that the teachers there can't get the kids to understand the simple words of English! I had to enroll my child in a private English course taught by a tutor to even learn the basics of English in a proficient manner, which cost me thousands. Yuck!

    My son attended Dessau Elementary for the first time since moving here from california last year for 3rd grade. I was very pleased with the education, environment & the care he received in the school especially from his teacher Mrs Watson. She was very good to him and was hands on in getting him to where he needed to be.
