One of most underrated school districts around Naperville/Aurora area.We moved from one the best school districts 203 in Naperville and to say the least its definitely at paar. You will see the great progress for your kid in Wheatlands Elementary.

This school is amazing! - we put 4 kids through it and our oldest was there since day one when it opened until our last finished in 2017! The administration, staff, counselors, teachers, and amenities and programs the school does each year for the families and children are amazing. All 4 of my kids walked to school as we lived only 2-3 blocks away! We got to even know the crossing guards and many families and teachers. It consistently outperforms all the other schools in the district and area in academics. This also applies to the middle school it feeds, Bednarcik. The librarian, art, music, and pe teachers and extracurricular programs are also great - even there is a program where they invite parents in to read or explain art in conjunction with the art teacher, they put on at least 2 excellent musicals per year, they do physical fitness fundraisers, and the music teacher works very hard as well to make it a responsible, important and fun experience for all! Daddy Daughter dance, school carnival/fundraiser with games and activities, and much more! I volunteered my company's resources and time at the annual STEM celebration night each year as well where they encourage kids to get into careers in math and science doing demos, fun activities and bringing in area experts and scientists from Fermilab and the like doing cool experiments for the kids and families. Highly recommend District 308 and this school as well as Bednarcik the middle school it feeds into just down the road.

Superb. The school and staff are excellent. My older children attended school at a nearby, more highly rated district. We felt our children got an equivalent education here...without having to spend a million dollars on a home.

HORRIBLE. Just HORRIBLE. If you haven't already, smell the cafeteria! It smells like a dump! And the poor 5th graders only get their lunch at 12:40-1:00! What kind of school does this to kids?!? The teachers, especially the art teacher, are so lackadaisical! All this school teaches is how to do well on ISATS. I saw that the teachers would yell "VOICES OFF (insert grade level here) " when the kids wouldn't even talk! The music teacher here is all play and no work. How sad. We have had a few good teachers here. I am glad that we are moving out of District #308.

I have had three kids attend The Wheatlands. They have had excellent teachers and all have been prepared for junior high. They have nice friends and I've met many nice parents. They welcome parent involvement, both in the classroom as well as in the PTA activities. They value art and music, and the PE teachers care about the overall health of the students.
