My child has been attending McCarty for Kindergarten, he loves to go to school, and the teachers are caring, and encouraging and also have a genuine love for working with young children. The teachers and staff are always available to answer questions, provide support, and communicate regularly about my child's progress. There are lots of extra circular activities for families conducted by PTA.

My child has been attending McCarty for two years now, Kindergarten and 1St grade. Light Hall, Cetnar and Scalzo to name just a few of the awesome teachers we have had the pleasure to work with. Communication is amazing, these teachers go out of there way to answer questions and make sure your child is getting what they need. Front of the house staff, Debbie, Crystal and anyone else who's name I haven't gotten are always pleasant and ready to answer paranoid parents questions. They are the gatekeepers and do a fine job making the load lighter on the staff and keeping kids safe. The principal, Mr.Schnable, is young and hardworking, always available and knows all the kids names and what they like. Everyone here is making an effort towards your child's success. This is an awesome school with great spirit and they work hard to make sure that family and community is involved to help students grow. I highly recommend this school and this area to live in general. If your destiny brings you to Chicago and you decide to plant your roots here your children will be successful. Go Mustangs!!!

I have 3 kids at McCarty and have had a great experience thus far! All of our teachers have been AMAZING, each in their own way. The communication with parents is consistent and you always feel involved. There are many extracurricular activities that the kids have enjoyed such as multicultural club, coding club, art club, chorus, Spanish club, and mustang pride leaders to name a few. All of my children have excelled academically and have received prompt support when necessary. The PTA is phenomenal and does a great job of keeping families involved and up to date on events and fundraising. Our FB page is a great way of communicating. Overall extremely happy to be a part of the McCarty family

5* rating! WE have experience only 1st year at McCarty as our child is in KG but we loved everything! Awesome teachers! My child loves this school! Can't wait for the next year!

Great school with dedicated teachers, lots of extra opportunities for students. great Emphasis on students showing mustang pride by being kind, showing leadership and helping others. Curriculum includes social emotional learning & ways to meet a variety of students learning styles , many classes have flexible seating options, there is a sensory room, maker's space, a wonderful chorus and drama program. All of this is because of the dedication of the administration & teachers to keep innovating & give their students new opportunities . McCarty strives to meet the needs of their culturally & economical diverse students & families. Teachers and administration are eager to engage with parents and encourage parent participation inside & outside of the classroom. Like all D204 schools, there is a higher student to teacher ratio for classrooms , 25-30 students being common but there are also many T-A's and reading specialists who help in classrooms so that each student gets the help they need. We have a wonderful 6 years at McCarty and have been impressed with all her teachers and the support staff.

My two sons attend McCarty Elementary School and they are thriving in their education. They are excited about school and the things that they are learning. The teachers there are purposeful in engaging with their students and making sure that each student is given the opportunity to reach their potential. I love the communication that I receive from the school and from my son's teachers. And even if I needed access to the teachers for questions or follow up, they make themselves available for me to do that. It's a great school!

We moved recently to utah from aurora and let me just say I loved McCarty and miss it a bunch. The teachers at McCarty are great and want your kids to succeed. My son got tons of extra help from the specialists teacher and my daughter got tons of help in speech. I would rate this school more like a ten cause of all the extra support it gives the kids. I get less then half out here in Utah. So way to go McCarty you never know what you have till it's gone!!

McCarty is a fantastic, diverse, caring environment for both of my children. The teachers, support staff, administrative staff and principal are on the ball and fully engaged with the students. I'm thrilled to volunteer any time I can, just to get a quick peek at my little ones in their own environment. Thank you for providing a safe and fertile environment for learning!

My son attends kindergarten at McCarty and so far it has been an excellent experience. My son is excited to go to school everyday, despite his clip getting moved down periodically (he's a very social and active little boy). He has comes home excited about things he is learning. They have a great PTA and it is nice to see how many parents are involved with the school and attend events with their kids to support the school. I have talked with the principal on several occasions and am very pleased.

I've read many of the reviews on this site and have to say that I am very impressed with the school on several levels: it is a very diverse school with a great mix of families who genuinely care about the students. Yes, the classroom sizes could be smaller, but I've found that when both parents and teachers partner together for the benefit of the student, everyone wins. I will also say that the principal leadership of the school is excellent. The principal is very involved with the students and it shows through her interactions with the students.

My children are in Kindergarten and 2nd grade at McCarty Elementary. The new school year was a little rough for them to transition into and I can't say enough good things about their teachers helping to ease this transition and make them feel cared for. The principle also went above an beyond to make the start of the year a good one!! My children have shown such positive results! Thank you!!

Student and teacher ratio is 30:1, Which is very high. You can't expect your kid to learn much in the class room. Very disappointed with school performance.Bottom in the list performance wise in 204 schools. Hoping to move my kid out of this school.

We have had a fantastic experience at McCarty. We are entering our 4th year. The PTA, Teachers & Administration are thoughtful, caring and TRULY working to benefit the students. I'm proud to have my children attend McCarty!

Special need parents don't even think about moving to this school or the school Dist. (204) . Worst place for special need kids, school don't have any ILC Classrooms or Sensory room , we moved all the way from Calgary , Alberta seeing some reviews and invested all the money in a house right behind MacCarty, now we're not able sell this house in the present market.My son is transported to a school which is 20 minutes drive away. Special need parents pls do your homework before you can make big moves and big investments.
