went here and it was genuinely horrible, fights almost every day and a lot of drugs were going through students, a lot of school bullying happens here and administration is very bad at dealing with it, another thing staff is horrible at it dealing with kids with mental illnesses and special needs.

The reviews given by great schools is a big lie honestly. You should definitely come here. I think this is the best school in the entire state

It's been a great experience with Fischer. The teachers are excellent and very supportive. As a parent, I have had many engaging opportunities to participate. My child is finding all opportunities to develop and grow and, is very happy & excited to be part of this school.

School is fine in most areas, but it has two significant problems touched on by some of the other reviews here. First, it has a problem with violence and disrespect between students that staff have done nothing to address in the last six years I have had kids there. I had one kid seriously assaulted several years back, and the school refused to take action against the perpetrator beyond a couple of days of suspension. No plan was put in place to mange the kid’s behavior. Staff morale must be low, because incidents like this seem to happen all the time, and staff seem reluctant to intervene until it escalates to a point where a kid gets seriously injured. Another kid of mine became terrified to attend everyday with the pervasive atmosphere of threatening behavior and disrespect. That kid reported, for example, kids throwing the N word around at each other during PE, and the teacher just letting it happen. Second, the level of special education support available at this school is well below District 204 average. The school is reluctant to qualify kids for IEPs, and school staff may have the paper qualifications to perform their IEP roles, but they don’t understand the methods they use, and whether or not your kid gets help will depend on whether your kid perfectly fits their misunderstanding of the categories that fall under IDEA. Your kid might get the help it needs, it might not. Finally, there are some great individual teachers here who truly care about teaching your kids, and helping them feel safe. But the foregoing problems are systemic, and even with the recent change in leadership are still not being addressed.

Not only has this school refused to give my kid the accommodations he needs for his ADHD, anxiety and depression, but he is also getting bullied here and there are no consequences for this behavior at this school.

The school does nothing about bullying. They pay lip service to it, but it's empty. A few months back, my son was punched in the face several times. The kid who threw the punches was suspended for one day. When I asked my son why he didn't fight back, he said the school has told students that they are not allowed to fight back, and that they can only try to play defense. A kid on his bus curses at students and the bus driver, spouts racial slurs, and even threatened to stab people, and nothing is done about it. If the housing market wasn't so volatile right now, I would definitely move. This school is a joke.

Teachers care about the students and willing to help, However, students need to cooperate.

great school!!. Teachers and staff are extremely attentive to students performance and their needs. They make sure that students get ample opportunities to e xcel in academics and encourage them to participate in all activities and programs that are being offered at school. Also, they are equally attentive to students with special needs.

My daughter graduated this year and my son just completed 6th grade. Excellent school with a super staff, great diversity of respectful and talented students, and great curriculum. The parents are another big reason the school succeeds for they all work hard and put education, diversity, and safety as top priority. This school also has many great programs in music and sports!!

My son has started 6th grade here this year. His team is just amazing and all the support they offer him and me. They have addressed every concern I have had very promptly. They are all very professional and really care about the students. Sammy Smith is the most amazing assistant Principle, she always goes above and beyond for my son and I and I cant thank her enough! I look forward to my 2 younger sons going to fisher in the future.

As a parent of an incoming 6th grader, I feel confident in her team of teachers. Communication is excellent at this school! Her teachers were all enthusiastic and well prepared. I left curriculum night with a feeling of relief knowing my student was in great hands!

I am a former student at Fischer. I graduated this year and all I have to say is that it was a wonderful experience. I loved the kids.even though I had a hard time trusting people,I think it was just me, by 8th grade I had my own group of friends. I will not be going to Waubonsie high school due to moving reasons, but I do encourage parents to join PTA. Enjoy Fischer while you can....
