I'm a current student at Bednarcik Jr. High School and I believe the school is lacking in a lot of categories. A lot of fights happen in the school and people will gather up in one area (making it hard to get to class) and they get suspended for a week or so. Some teachers lose your stuff and then blame it on you or they spend all of the class time to talk about stuff that doesn't relate to the unit (My fellow peers know who). A lot of students at B]HS skip classes in the bathroom and don't get caught. Also, a lot of students got really good at hiding their phones. Now I personally saved the worst for last, I get severely bullied, getting called, fat, ugly, werido, freak, monster, worthless, witch and many more on the daily. Physical interactions happen and once it was in front of a teacher. I told the counselor and all she said, "Its your word against the teachers". Now a lot of teachers do care about your mental health when I was in 6th grade Ms. White helped me out a lot with emotions and friends (jerks) in my opinion Ms. White deserves a shout out! I did forget to mention the bathrooms are really gross.

This school is a great place for kids to learn and grow. most of the kids are nice and respectful. The one thing I have a problem with is there is no dress code. overall this is a great school.

This is the best school in the world. The teachers care about their students there are fun things to do like band concerts, school dances, movie day, clubs etc. I recommend this school for anyone who likes school but at the same time likes having fun at school. But at the same time you still need to do some hard work. The school does not give that much homework but that is fair because there are a lot of classes for the students and each class gives out homework. This school also has selective's like Cooking/sewing, band , choir, study hall , art , wood shop , computer lab and more.

This school is amazing! - we put 4 kids through it and our youngest just finished up there in 2019. The administration, staff, counselors, teachers, and amenities and programs the school provides each year for the families and children are amazing. All 4 of my kids were in multiple clubs, sports, and even were able to compete in local, regional, and even statewide events and competitions against other Illinois middle schools! Bednarcik has some amazing teachers such as Ms. Truemper (science), Mr. Linden (math), and many, many more. Science Olympiad team has been improving every year and competes winning gold silver and bronze medals at the statewide competition in Champaign each year. The school has an active anti-bullying policy, provides multiple opportunities for kids to excel in extracurricular activities, and has great academic success over and above most of the other middle schools in the area. We highly recommend District 308 and Bednarcik as well as the other middle schools in the district.

Bednarcik has taken a beautiful flight to success and your foresight, initiative and relentless effort deserves a big applause. Principal Mrs. Alexander has introduced many new after school clubs and activities and giving the students an opportunity to explore various ways to learn and shine. Some of the programs recently introduced were, "watch dogs" where dads/grand (dads can come and spend a day with their child), spelling bee, math counts and ACE engineering after school club. This is what I am aware of, there might me more. These are great ways for students to be involved in academic, competitive and stimulating activities after school for over all enrichment. Another idea I personally really liked was putting the college pennants from alumni, parents of students and school staff and teachers all around the school and cafeteria. Overall, Bednarcik is a great school with numerous opportunities and support for students. Teachers like Mrs. Thilk, Mrs. Herrick, Mrs. Heemstra, Mrs. Kepka, Mrs. Truemper, Mr. Linden, Mr. Brooks, Mr. Mann, Mr. Murphy and many more make it a top class school.

This is a terrible school. I thought the new principle, Mrs. Alexander might turn things around, but I can now see that I was clearly mistaken. I would move before I would send another child to the school.

I have had two children attend Bednarcik. The new principal, Mrs Alexander, is a treasure, with a kind heart and great ideas for new programs, including the spelling bee, National Junior Honor Society, and WATCH dogs (dads coming in to monitor the halls and classes). My kids have had some great teachers, including Mr Linden, Ms Truemper, Mr Morrison, Mr Mann, Mrs Heemstra, Mrs Dutdut, Mrs Nemetz, and others. My kids feel safe and they like their school and teachers. I only wish they offered orchestra, jazz band, and a jazz choir, but that is a district decision. They have allowed string students to play in the band that move in from other districts.
