I can't imagine this school will stay open with low numbers and scores. Students and staff don't stay long enough to make a difference.

It's likely to be closed down. Enrollment never took off and neither did the quality.

We don't feel there has been truthfulness given to us parents and community. There hasn't been growth in volume or in quality. Jeffco did not renew a full contract and made it contingent. Now there are board members that don't have anything to do with the school and not even live in state. Reading though board meeting notes, It become obvious there hasn't been accountably or a reality check. Estimated being upside 500K short! Doral Inc covering fees. No business can run this way for long.

The teachers that care, truly care. But the ones that don't seem to far out number those that do. The turn over rate in educators is quite alarming. The wellbeing of the children seem to fall through the cracks and when confronted with such, the blame is continously passed. There is an app that they communicate through- no emails, letters, or updates on the website. Just the app- that you have to search through to find updates. If you give up too soon, you will miss potential information. They are CONSTANTLY seeking parent volunteers and then shade them or make them feel unwelcome once they show up, so it is always the same ones over and over. It's alarming at the lack of communication that is given to parents regarding their children. They keep promising that it will get better, but I feel that the new building has just provided a bigger hiding space for administration to not update parents or be involved in the goings on...

I can’t begin to put into words how much switching our children to Doral has done for us. They are excited about school again and that gives them the energy to learn and grow. We feel the academics and programs available are well suited to a strong learning environment. The teachers really care and being still smaller in terms of size makes it so they are accessible to all students.

Our kids are doing amazing at Doral. They love their teachers and look forward to going every day.

Year after year they push to get their enrollment up so they offer all the help and services and then pull them back after October. They are still being financially supported by the outside companies who seem to really run this show. No one really wants to talk or deal with the root problems. Kids don't know the difference but we parents are looking forward to being done here.

At a time that Jeffco is closing down public schools, Doral is working hard to build community. They just received a governor’s award for most improved students. They spend every week hosting dialogues with middle schoolers to focus on wellness. The teachers are kind and supportive of the kids.

We began looking for a new school for our kids last year, and Doral Academy was one of the first we thought of exploring. From our very first meeting, it was clear that our kids were their top priority. And wanted to be a partner with us in ensuring our kids where taken care of educationally and mentally.

My child graduated middle school here. A great school and staff . Fully prepared my child for high school . Freshman year came east for him as Doral fully prepared him freshman year seemed more of a review of what he had in 8th grade at Doral! Arley Blanco is a terrific principal she gets to know all students and what their likes and dislikes are. I would highly recommend Doral over any other elementary or middle school. C griffin

Doral has educated my children for the past 6 years. Each of them has found confidence and courage in themselves through the activities in the classroom to learn from methods that are not just taking notes and tests! LoveThat their whole person is addressed and encouraged. Also have been SO thrilledTo see them launch into high school with all the knowledge they need to carry them forward.

Disappointing. The experience we have had has left us feeling we need to look for a better option elsewhere. We also recently found out that Doral Inc is helping pay the bills/fees for the school. This is alarming and now realizing it helps make sense of things being said within the district. Renewal was not approved as other charters have been.

My children attended Doral since the year they opened. They have had wonderful, caring teachers who go out of their way to communicate with us and work with my children. The arts integration has been the best thing for my kids. They have loved learning to express their learning through applied arts and dance. The curriculum is just as rigorous as other schools, but they have kids complete arts integration projects that satisfy their creative needs.

So frustrated! for the second year now one of my kids is being harassed and bullied and nothing is being done! How many incident reports need to sent home before action happens! We are leaving! Now we understand why so many have left before us.

Had 4 kids here for many years they loved the school and staff. They are very welcoming and try there best to help kids when they need help. The small class sizes make it easier for individualized help.

After 3 years we are out! We kept believing it's got to get better. There seems to be illusion of grander and promises they don't intent to keep or able. Not sure why they are moving forward with a new building when they can't keep staff nor students. Kids are kids and they seem happy but reality there isn't good foundation here and putting the same efforts and leaders in the same place makes no sense any longer. Sadly they will continue to have the same support and the same results as before because real change is not going to happen nor has it.

How many years can they use the excuses that they're new? Frustrated with excuses and low results. Beware that if you are the parent that complains or brings up issues they will make it easy and encourage your family to exit the school. Some board members and PTA is not helpful with these concerns. We feel misled from what we were sold on attending here.

Disaster Averted! We were excited that our kids were accepted into a charter so easily. (Good ones are hard to get in and have wait lists) In a very short time we realized why... We pulled them out as quickly as we could secure other placements. Hard to believe they are building a new location when they can't sustain in the current location and the numbers of students and quality of education are so low. Looking at or short stent we are happy to have jumped ship!

We have given this school several years and our all, the proof is beyond blaring! Let's look at the recorded facts. "Test scores at this school fall below the state average". "This shows the suspension rates for students with disabilities at this school compared to the state average." Students with disabilities 21%State avg: 10%All students 4%State avg: 5%We suspected our child would not be ready for Middle School and became fact when the long term Sub came in during the 5th grade teachers maternity leave. Grading changed and expectations raised to what it was before. Real world learning and expectations and preparedness are not being met at this school. We met with a middle school teacher at another local school and the remark was kids from this school have not been prepared for the expectations when entering Middle and High School. It is disheartening we wasted so much time and the changes needed have not been made regardless of what is said. It is often discussed and told that there is many outside resources being brought in and implemented but it's not clear what improvements it's making.

My child has been attending Doral for 4 years and it has been the best four years of their education. They are now in middle school and the middle school teachers go over and beyond for my child and the rest of the students in their class! Mrs. Blanco and Mrs. Shroyer have been amazing over these years and this school is so amazing because of them. The staff is an amazing group of individuals and if you send your student to this school, you will not regret it.
