My kindergartner was promoted into first grade with out knowing how to write numbers 1-10 or the alphabet. I was told they stopped teaching children how to write. They figured they’d just “pick it up” with letter recognition. He was frequently given 20 page packets of homework. I stil cannot figure out for the life of me what they were doing all day at that school. Classroom and recess management was poor at best. My child got stabbed in the head with a pencil. In the same week he also got in trouble for playing tag. The assistant principal decided to open an investigation on who started the game of tag. We were told that it “didn’t matter” what was happening at recess, and there was no point in monitoring recess because they couldn’t take it away as a consequence. “Recess is a right and we can’t take it away because some parents got upset and took it to court.” She told us she was fed up with the school district because they wouldn’t buy her business cards. We are homeschooling.

The teachers are pretty good. My son has had a positive experience. I think school leadership is very strong. Principal (Dr. Martin) is very smart and makes good decisions. I recommend this school to anyone in the Apopka area.

Excellent principal, excellent teachers! More parental involvment would make it even better. Our has daughter has developed a greater thirst for knowledge and we couldn't be happier. Dream Lake rocks!

This school is fantastic. We moved from a Seminole County school and have been through many principals. By far, this is the most involvement I have ever seen out of a principal. He cares dearly for his staff and it shows. I have always received the information I needed when calling the office. They are an amazing staff as well. The teachers love their kids as if they were their own.

The schools communication skills are not good. I can't get a call back from the office. Everytime I call you have to leave a voice mail and my voice mail hasn't been returned that I left over 2 days ago. My child is sick out of school all week and I wanted to see if I could get her class work for the week, but I can't even get intouch with anyone to ask. I do not think the principal is involved with students, my daughter has no idea even who he is. So disappointed and looking forward to getting her out of this school.

I love this school! We are excited about our new school being built this year. It is going to be beautiful! I must say I love the principal Mr. Schadow and the teachers that both of my boys have had, Mc. Clemens and Mrs. Flores. they care and are quick to respond to any concerns I have or emails I send, and that's what matters to me.

This school is old but the teachers and staff are amazing! Gary is the best Principal and is very involved with everything that goes on in his school.
