My family adores Apison Elementary. It has far exceeded my expectations, so much so, when considering moving I refused to move out of the Apison school zone. The teachers and staff make my child feel loved and welcomed every day. When your kid gets excited to see their principal at the grocery store and gives them a big hug, you know they’re doing something right. My child also has a 504 plan which was easy to collaborate on and put into action. They’ve had two amazing teachers here so far, and I look forward to the rest of their time here. I love the chance for family involvement, especially the culture fest!

Great School! Both my Son and Daughter have gone here a long with my 3 nephews. Best School in Hamilton County hands down. Every School has challenges but with there leadership things get handled very well. I recommend this school over any other school in Hamilton County

We currently have two students enrolled at this school. All of the teachers we have had the privilege to engage with have been FANTASTIC. Our kids come home everyday laughing and excited to show us what they're learning. They talk about all their friends and the relationships being built at a young age. Communication is handled professionally and consistently. Kids that are performing above grade level also have the opportunity to be paired/grouped together with other kids at that level so they can continue to excel without hindering the learning of other children. It's not going to be 100% perfect, especially at a public school, but the staff does a great job and we are really excited to have our kids here.

So please understand I am upset again with this school. I have 3 kids that go there which is 6 adult seats for the holiday luncheon. BUT we are no allowed to attend, because I have to work and my wife has our baby who is NOT allowed at this school. So any large families are being discriminated against. Ok the reason, my wife was told it is dangerous for younger siblings to be there. (So why are my other kids NOT in danger?). I was told there's no room. Well each kid is allowed 2 adults, so I got 6 seats which the baby would just be in her lap and not eat. No one has returned my calls or answered my questions. I have to be at work but my wife who can't attend will be there recording if any kids are allowed in. My kids aren't any smarter, they already knew everything from preschool, private. So for those of you wondering this has been just a glimpse at one of my episodes with Apison elementary.

Terrible teachers, terrible school ,please avoid taking your children here at all cost. The teachers are not good and seriously traumatized my child. It’s been several years since my child went there and she still tells me horror stories.

My children have been at this school for a couple of years. We really enjoyed the school up until this year. My child is in 5th grade. I have been so disappointed with the teachers this year. One in particular, “roasts” the kids which is a nice way of saying that she teases them and makes fun of them. They take their recess away as a punishment which just makes things worse. The principal at this school should have retired years ago. He doesn’t respect women and if there is a man in the room then he will listen to him first. We are so glad that we are almost finished with this school.

I pulled my kids out of that place last year. The last straw for me was when I found out that the school allowed a teacher to line the 5th grade students up along the playground fence during recess, as punishment for failing a test, so they could be laughed at by the other kids. I was shocked!!! The principal should have retired years ago. He will not listen and is NEVER available. I also had a daughter that had been scoring 100% on portions of the state testing, but after 2 years the school still claimed to not have time to "test" her for the gifted program. I gave up and pulled both kids out of there.

I have been very pleased. My first child is in kindergarten and he is learning a lot. His teacher is very organized and keeps great communication with parents (weekly emails).

This was my first experience with the public school system since I had only attended private school. I absolutely loved it! The school was incredibly secure - you did not get in without a badge or id. The teachers were friendly and the aftercare program was fantastic. My son learned so much in his kindergarten class.

My child's school is Apison elementary. I could not be happier with a school. Everyone is very caring and attentive with the kids. My daughter has really grown there.

Apison elem and my grandaughyer has gone there for 2 years now. She was diagnosed with ADD by Dr. Paul Long , an educational psychologist expert and when we brought this to the school and asked for the appropriate actions ( which is a federal law) to help her become the most successful student possible , we were met with them dragging there heels . The principal's answer to helping her was that they would hold her back, without doing any of the testing., ( which is required by law) Her teacher said she had never had to deal with this before. We had a meeting with the principal and teacher and the principal would not let me talk or finish a sentence without interrupting me. Needless to say, that meeting wa very unproductive. We have gone to the school board without much success or caring there either. We may end up getting Chold Advocay involved . Makes a person wonder how many other children has had this treatment and uncaring attitude. She will not be going there next year.
