I pulled My twin boys from canyon rim. From the principle to the poor teachers . The lack of support in the classrooms and out on the playground . The principle cannot handle kids she faults to calling you every day and putting kids in detention at school . The homework is overload with no support and lots of different apps to go into . Your kid will be sent to a POD to catch up and have play taken from them . The teachers are like little kids that need to be spoken too because they treat our. Holstein poorly when we’re not around . I hope you will be your children’s advocate too .

I am shocked by the reviews on here. We just moved to Anaheim Hills from Los Angeles and I was a little nervous about sending my kids to Canyon Rim after reading these reviews. So far it has been an amazing school. I love the teachers, principal, office staff, activities.. etc. Truthfully, I can't find anything I don't like about this school. My kids are thriving and happy. The teachers are supportive and responsive. Transitioning schools is hard on kids (and parents) but I am so happy we ended up at Canyon Rim. If people want to complain about schools, they should try LAUSD out for a few years. lol. My kids are all learning so much and love the reward systems the school has in place. Although detention is a thing, it is really just a tool to teach kids responsibility in getting their work done. I'm glad my kids are learning good habits before they go to middle school. Overall, I love this cute little school and feel so lucky my kids get to go here!

Horrible. Get in trouble for stupid reasons and teachers always throw detention at you!

Thus far our experience as parents has been great. Teachers and principle take the time to communicate the classroom / school activities in advance. Teachers ask and involve parents in the learning and teaching process so parents are aware of the students work load and assignment due dates. We are both working parents and take advantage of CARES on campus, who help with home work and do fun projects with the kids. PTA is very active in raising funds for STEM lab ,Book club and various programs and initiatives that benefit the students and school library. we are so glad our kids are Canyon Rim students.

Canyon Rim is a poor choice for a family that wants their children to feel safe and secure.

When the previous principle was there the school was 10 out of 10. The new principle isn't doing a very good job and she is allowing the teachers to be lazy and not teach the children. That's why this school dropped 2 points. She should have more pride and get the school back to a 10. As far as the teachers, most are good but I would give a huge thumps down to Kindergarten teach Mann and 5th grade teacher Haitbrink. Both are really bad. I didn't want to rate them until we moved over to Rancho so there are no issues but wow. Those two need only be paid for babysitting and not teaching. The principle should notice that the students grades go down in Haitbrink's class compare to their previous scores and find out what is she doing in class besides crying. Definitely not teaching. Too late for us to have them fix the problems because we have moved on but for future parents and students--be involved and complain to the O.C. board. Those 3 need to be fired and get teachers and a principle that cares and is not lazy. Have some pride teachers! Tough review, but it's honest. Good luck....

This is our first year for public school and my is happy and learning. Her teacher is exceptional she is very helpful and communicates with us for everything .she is quick to respond to my e mails and always very helpful. I am happy how she always makes sure the kids understood their work before they get homework so my child is very independent when she does her homework because it was taught in the classroom. I see my kid is growing and learning. Overall I am looking forward to next year but I will miss this year's teacher .

My children are not reaching their full potential at this school. I'm really thinking of finally jumping ship and paying for a better education somewhere else.

As a parent of a kindergartner, now gearing up for the first grade, i have been really pleased with the quality of education my child has been getting at this school. I appreciate all the parental in involvement, and the commitment of the teacher to guide the students through the educational process. All the feedback i receive from the other parents about other teachers at the school has been positive as well. Looking forward to another year.

I give three stars because it's a better school than most schools we know. Not a five stars because teachers teach to the middle. If your kids are advance, they are at lost. If your kids can count to 20 and understand phonics before kindergarten, then you are better off finding an alternative ways to enrich them. Too many red tapes going around and it made us feel that the school is not there to teach. If you are ready to invest time and energy into fighting for your above-grade-level kids, then it's a good school because it's free and it's in a very nice neighborhood so you'll meet nice parents as well.

Poor teaching, no follow up on any questions from parents. Wish there was something that actually taught my kids.

2.5 stars overall. Teacher quality varies greatly. My son is learning nothing about rules other than that they exist and he will be chastised for imperfect obedience. If that's not enough, the overcrowding and red tape caused by overarching structural challenges make this a difficult learning environment. The principal tries hard, so CR has that going for it. Very little parental involvement. Parents hang out in their cliques or SUVs until the kids are dismissed. Some parents do volunteer, granted, but I've had much more positive experiences at other public schools.
