One of the worst schools in the UK most probably. My daughter has been attending this school since Reception and the biggest mistake I did was send her to secondary school here. She is now approaching Year 10 and the level of education is appalling. On top of this, the school has been given a Requires Improvement by Ofsted.Extremely high staff turnover and even the Head teacher has left and she was only in the school for 1 year!No homework, no support from any of the teachers. The teachers don't test the student's understanding before moving on to the next subject.Student's lack motivation coming here. Newham needs to see what is going on in this school and do something ASAP.So many unhappy parents and unhappy students.School doesn't listen to our thoughts. Everything gets swept under the carpet. No way on earth would I recommend this school.

Worst school I have seen in my entire life. Unable mentally teachers that shouldn't be teaching anymore. The principal loves to cover the school problems under the rug, fake people with a fake smile. I regret from the bottom of my heart to allow this city to send my kid to this nightmare shool.

"Sometimes the best way to learn is to experience things yourself", from my child's view point it's good but from my view point as a parent who likes to be involved and expects not to be brushed off or rudely spoken to from faculty. There are some teachers who seem to be great with the students and gives me hope for my child's future. I just am not sure I would put my child's sibling if it can be helped. I've heard some negative things and even more after this 1st year but I he didn't have to go back. I thought school transfers were possible but not easy so I'll keep trying.

Very bad leadership at the school, unprofessional and rude. Communications from leadership are never via email, at this point i doubt they can write an email.

great teachers but bad and ineffective leadership. the school needs an adminstrator who will be able to handle the diverse needs of the students and the teachers.

We are parents of five. Moved two of them to school 21 for location convenience and we were so disappointed. As we previous have experience with other public schools, we have much to compare. First and the most important, the principle Ms. Grant, has not display any leadership or control over her staff. More often than not , her staff do not adequately supervise children during their time in school. she was not aware or choose to ignore when staff were selling candies and snacks with ingredients that have been linked to cancer and diabetes. She responded that her hands were tied when a 4th grade teacher was absent more days than actually came to school which was going on for months. and her respond was "I can't move all the kids to the other classroom". Bullying was not addressed effectively and was not even reported to us as parents when one of our children was a victim. I hope that Ms Grant and some of her staff can have an opportunity to improve and pergapse participase in workshops that can provide them woth tools to do better job in educating our children because right now they are failing !

As a child, I attended PS 21. As a parent, I had no hesitation in sending my two children to PS 21. Located in Lincoln Park, a safe residential area, it houses a multicultural population of students. PS 21 is a community landmark providing our generations of tomorrow with a solid foundation for early childhood education. Core values are initially taught here! The building is clean, & cafeteria/gym well equip. The classrooms are uniquely structured. Student projects dec the hallways and walls. The library with the internet is a computer lab which provides students with programs that are designed to enhance their already existing skills and knowledge. Teachers are involved, active and inspirational. They have shown to interact professionally with students on every level. The principal is caring and dedicated having responsibilities which are endless. PTA plans & guides activities which promote and encourage learning, hanyds on participation and volunteer effort. Mindfulness approach and practice has set the tone for success at PS 21. The school is without a doubt one of the best out there.

PS 21 is my alma mater and school to my 2 children. For 100 years it has served and continues to serve our generations of students some of whom are now our political, economic and social chief executives. The landmark provides early childhood education, the foundation for learning and inculcating good core values for life. The building is clean & renovated, cafeteria/gym well equip, classrooms structured. Student projects dec hallways and walls. Library internet has enriching programs. Professional teachers are involved, active and inspirational. The principal, well respected & approachable improves curriculum goals & motivates teachers. He actually "takes part" in extracurricular activities. PS 21 has special offerings from academics to team sports to after school programs. A strong PTA promotes and encourages learning, hands on participation and volunteer effort. A mindfulness approach and practice has inevitably set the tone for success at PS 21. The school is without a doubt one of the best out there!

School 21 is in their 4th year as the only mindful school in New York. Teachers and the Principal have been trained by mindful school.org . They boast of a 99% satisfaction level by parents. It's true! For a public education, you can't lose- mindfulness, morals, fun, and learning!

My daughter goes to this school and she doesn't complain. She started this school from 4th grade. Before she came to this school she went to private school. I took her from there becouse the teachers were meen and she was coming home nervous. At PS 21 she became totally a different child. She is very happy and she gets rewards every year. I really recommend this school. I would like to say that School 21 has new auditorium.

I don't get it. Most of the reviews are stellar but the school has a GreatSchools rating of 2. Something must be wrong that the parents are not talking about. My son might have to go to this school for pre-K in September and I'm seriously thinking of just putting him in a private school instead.
