The school is very nice but they need stricter punishment and some teachers aren't that good

Cheltenham School District is NOT safe for students let alone teachers … they are slow to respond to students safety where there are violent fights going on between students practically every day … student disrespect teachers and each other … there is NO order or direction for anyone.

Great school. Arts programs and sports programs are great.

Phenomenal school. Majority of negative reviews are from individuals with implicit bias, and who are uncomfortable with diversity.

Disrespect, no leadership, no parental engagement, and a recent history of violence.

1 star. Teaching methods were lousy and poor, it seemed like teachers received their teaching degrees from online school. The teachers didn’t seem to care about the wellbeing of the students, as long as they revieved their paycheck. There were constant fights where teachers had no idea how to handle it.

My experience at this school is going on 7 years and I feel that it is still a good school. I have children who are former students from there and one still attending. No school is perfect but this one is the perfect one for my child.

My daughter has had an excellent experience both academically in her honors and AP courses, as well as in multiple sports and clubs. There is a wide variety of clubs offered to the students, giving them an opportunity for a well rounded school experience.

Cheltenham High School functions like a Junior College ! They prepare students for Higher Learning and Life as a mature young adult. They value the input from students and the teaching staff is superb! As a parent I am confident that my son will be very prepared for College ... that was how I felt back in 2013 ... Now here in 2017, with my second child in the High School, I feel dismayed at the changes ... the academic stamina of the school is still the best. However the culture of the school is extremely divided. The District is a political Circus and Everyone has forgotten the core reason for why they are in the field of Education. Cheltenham is not responding to growing behavior concerns especially the types of behavior that compromises the learning environment and school safety... and now it now secretly a big chaotic nightmare that is neatly swept under the rug.... its okay because what is in the dark always comes to light. The District and The High School Administration need to put themselves to work, roll up their sleeves and figure how to discipline and teach all. The Blue Ribbon Status has fallen off ... and they need to find a solution .... a great curriculum means nothing if you lack the skils to teach it to ALL children of who they are or where they have come from.

School is very diverse and although the district does have some problems when it comes to the administration. Overall the school is great and I can't wait to see the new middle school being constructed currently. So much better than any public school in Philadelphia.

The communication in this district sucks. You literally find out a few days before who your child's teacher is and if you question or request anything beyond what they normally do the answer is we have always done it that way or its ok. But its really not! The teachers are good however there are some teachers that have favorites and this doesn't allow your child to get the best teacher for the education that they need. The Principal, this snooty non genuine, above everyone else attitude heffa is a bit to be desired and I pay too much taxes in this school district alone to feel this way. I do however like that there are a lot of things being done to show where our money goes but the process needs a revamp and the staff needs a retraining. I was told the info on the site was 5 years old. Really! Unacceptable. Also, there is favoritism in the PTO and this is not a good look for the newcomers or a good example for the children. The curriculum is very challenging but they need to offer more free tutoring opportunities and test taking prep for the students.

The school's teaching staff is excellent! My sons have been a part of the school's music program since 9th grade. The school's music and arts programs are second to none. Broadway quality musical productions are expertly produced. Academically, there are challenges due to its diversity but the staff does their best to shrink the learning gap.

Dedicated teachers offering an excellent program. High investment in arts and culture. My son just graduated college with high honors because of the training he received at CHS.

Lack of proper direction by both the School Board and School Administration. Numerous turnover of Superintendent, Asst. Superintendent and Business Manager positions. No proper vetting for the positions and no oversight by the school board has lead to a downward spiral within the district.

My children had wonderful experiences in the Cheltenham School system, especially at Cheltenham High School (classes of 2015 & 2011). Full of caring and committed teachers and zillions of outstanding extra-curricular activities - ranging from theater to robotics from athletics to community service. You couldn't ask for a warmer or more accepting school environment.

I've been jumped twice (And once gotten robbed) and I was a student of the school as well... I've seen a lot of CRAZY stuff in that school. I DIDNT feel safe and I'm glad I graduated. The truth is if you take predominantly AP/Honors classes and stick to the kids who are truly there for their future, then no, you won't be exposed to some of the problems that this school faces in terms of discipline. You WONT see the problems that people speak of and you can say that you had an incredible high school experience. Now no...its not as bad as Gratz or King (I'd know cuz I'm originally from those parts)... But how I see it, its an okay inner city minded school that's in the suburbs. If you're not ready for honors/AP classes, then go to private school. Otherwise, fight against having your mind corrupted in the "Enriched" classes.... Sorry just had to keep it real for a moment

Ok, so I attend the school. I don't necessarily think the school is a bad environment I don't think it's a bad place at all I think that the school is a very nice go to go to. I am an African American student and I have 3 AP classes and 1 honors. the school does not segregate between races they segregate between your academic level and which a student can produce the highest scores and succeed. they actually haven't been doing that bad with all the extra curricular activities. I do alot of extracurricular activities and I think there excellent. By the way weight training was not taken away from the activities you're allowed to do in physical education. yes I mean there are kids that are bad, rowdy and don't listen to rules. but no matter what school you send them to there always going to be kids that don't want to do their work, follow the rules, and think they can do whatever they want. I went to a private school from Kindergarten to 8th and those kids were there too. however, I do not think that the AP classes are too full. they do let whoever is willing and feel like they can succeed in the class we waiver in. I did from enriched to AP and Im a straight A student.

Wonderful academics, amazing opportunities, caring and talented teachers...our son has thrived at CHS. The Arts program is incomparable as are the running/track programs. All of this while surrounded by a diverse student body in every aspect with a truly caring leader, Andrew Kuhn and a talented Superintendant. We truly love Cheltenham School District

Cheltenham School district has been great for my children. They've made great friends over the years and have grown into responsible intelligent young adults. If I had to do it all over again, I'd choose this area again to raise my children.

We chose to move our family back to Cheltenham and raise our children here. Our family has benefited from our school system, with great academics, amazing music and arts at every grade level, dedicated teachers, involved parents with a wonderful small town atmosphere. My children have lifelong friendships, many forged in kindergarten. This is a lovely place to live
