My daughter started here at the end of 1st grade. I'm not sure if it was because the school year was almost over, but the teacher and staff seemed very closed off and hardly communicated with us, regarding schoolwork, some kind of orientation for my daughter. At the start of her 2nd grade year, the staff seemed more organized and was open to answer any questions. Her teacher was amazing and communicated very well with the parents. Overall, I am very happy with the school now. I believe they were in transition from the COVID years and were rebuilding a supportive staff. The principal and teachers I encounter are friendly and genuinely care about the students. I am content with my daughter's academic progress and she loves her friends and teachers .

My child has been in this school virtual through Kindergarten and inhouse for first grade. On a regular basis, my child is bullied in gym class, and when I call or message the teacher the response I am giving is "I took care of that even though it should have been handled in Gym" but it wasn't handled. When I brought it to the attention of the principal, the assistant principal, and the Behavioral interventions which fell on deaf ears. Sadly it's not just my child is not the only child getting bullied at this school. A lot of kids in the neighborhood all complain of different types of bullying from kids being verbally and physically abusive to each other. The teachers I've interacted with either lack the compassion to care or have been overworked to the point they no longer care and it shows.

I try to contact the principal a lot of times and it is impossible. The only person on that school that in envolved with something is the ESOL teacher

My KINDERGARTNER'S homework is insane! I think homework is a joke but OK, I get it. 7 hours of cramming information down their throats isn't enough. So, my kids has to write 4 sight words 3x's each, write the number word and number 3x's each, make a sentence using a sight word, read a poem 2x's, count to 100, and read for 20 minutes. That is ONE night's homework. And now I'm writing this review at 3:46 pm. The parent-teacher conference was at 3:20. Good to see they care here. I'm so glad we're moving out of this entire county! The schools here are HORRIBLE.

Unorganized school ! My son went here k-3 and I have to say kindergarten was ok but once he hit 1st grade he got no help from teachers . Bullying happens here a lot and all I ever got was excuses from principals and staff . The new vice principal seems like she's trying to help all she can but its just a mess . Class sizes are huge and teachers cannot handle all the children . Wish garden grove would get it together !
