This is our first year at Brooks and we are so impressed. The school only has 3rd, 4th and 5th graders on campus which has huge benefits for this age group socially and academically - everything is geared toward the needs and interests of 8 to 11 year-olds; the principal and teachers encourage student-led projects and initiatives in class and around campus. The new 4th/5th grade building and brand new library are impressive. The principal just started humanitarian assemblies, recognizing and rewarding kids that are kind, helpful and exhibit important character traits that will help them be successful in Middle School and beyond. PE, gardening, computers, music class and art are all thriving programs at this school. It's an overall solid community and we are proud to be a part of it!

Brooks has done an excellent job updating their facilities and bringing in strong teachers. Overall we have had a very positive experience. I would encourage the school to model all classes off the GATE class model. I believe all could benefit from the inclusive and engaging method in which teachers like Abbott teach the kids new skills.

This is my son’s second year at Brooks and we’ve been very happy with the school. Mr.Tomola started this year as the principaland has been great. He has monthly principals coffee open to all parents but I feel I could email him anytime with questions or concerns. My son has loved his teachers! I found both teachers to be extremely organized, creative and caring. His teacher this year makes learning fun and he leaves school happy every day. She sends almost daily updates on the classroom app and sends pictures and videos of special projects they’re working on. I feel he is getting a well rounded education at Brooks.

So far I am very impressed with Brooks Elementary school in Windsor. The principal is very warm and open to talk with parents about the best fit for their child with specific teachers. Not just filling out a piece of paper to request, but a private meeting to discuss this. Very nice of her. The office staff is professional and nice as well. So far we have loved the Windsor schools (Mattie Washburn and Windsor Creek). We are looking forward to another great year. :) Thank you Windsor for continuing to remind me how lucky we are to live in the gem of a town that you are!!! Great people, wonderful community, beautiful place, love it.

This school lacks quality academics and parent communication. There is no homework or effort to master any skills or concepts. It is preparing students for low wage jobs not college.
