The administration, teachers and staff at the school are so attentive and caring. I was in Gwinnett County school district previously and my kids have received a highest level of attention from their teacher and their grades are much better in the Barrow County School system. I hope we build more schools in this county it keeps growing and we need more teachers like the ones we have here.

I was a student here for class 2020 & I attended 2016-2019 before ultimately moving to a different school. Dismissing the amount of wild peer student behavior aside--- many of the teachers & some staff were nice & helpful. I was going to miss them, but I had to move schools If I wanted to succeed. The ultimatum for my parents, family, & I was that they were very unhelpful towards students with academic & attendance problems, especially students with disabilities who weren't student athletes. The biggest part of this was poor attitude & work ethics from core administrators that ran this school back then. My reasons for problems with my grades & attendance were due to disabilities that the school was often made known about. There were many teachers who refused to help me & my peers with tutoring or grades & school administrators made little to no effort to provide assistance. School admins often only disciplined but never gave encouragement behind closed doors. One of these disciplines was in school suspension, where many times I was given "bad habits" books to me that were heavily religious based, by an unnamed teacher. The biggest part was that unnamed school counselor (who was influenced by unnamed principal), dismissed my disabilities behind closed doors. Every time I was called in to speak with unnamed counselor-- despite that I was a child who is disabled & they were a counselor adult who is able-bodied--- they would compare myself to them & talk about how despite their challenges they could show up to work & be successful at all their tasks. Unnamed principal would often walk in & agree, despite not knowing what the conversation was, & shake their head in dissaproval at me. The one month I did receive aid for my attendance issues was when student volunteers from a university would visit to host meetings during a free period & speak to me & peers about our attendance, encourage us, give us warranted advice & help us. I'm not sure how the staff & admins are these days, but I heavily encourage current ones to not be dismissive towards their students needs, that they give encouragement, & aid towards children. For a safe & fun environment! It can really change a kids life & not traumatize them when you treat kids like people & only treat them as kids when its appropriate (i.e.; not comparing kids to adults). Thank you.

After coming from a nearby district with a Junior and Freshman transferring in October of 2020 to now, we are very impressed. WBHS staff and administration truly cares about our kids. Our kids that were struggling are now thriving. Thank you, WBHS and Barrow County School System.

We have 3 WBHS graduates and a senior this year. The teachers at WBHS are fabulous and go far above and beyond for the students. The faculty are also fantastic and supportive.

Attended WBHS for 9-12th grade. Only had two teachers I can even think of who stuck out to me and actually cared about their students. We never had text books but funded a football team who doesn't win. They only cared about students who were a sports star. Never once saw an administrator at a band, chorus or drama program, but they were at every football games. Teachers don't have equipment to deal with the large classes. When I started college I realized how under prepared I was for college. Never once had a counselor who actually helped me figure out a career and support me. If you can send your kids somewhere else do it.

I wish I had moved to the area sooner, the school takes pride in offering so many educational avenues and electives that you won't find anywhere else.

All in all these questions were all kinda bad to answer about this school. There are some good aspects and it’s better than Apalachee. Their new phone and earbud policing is really making a lot of the students angry though. If I would have known about it beforehand I would never go here. If their policy stays I would suggest that you don’t come here for schooling, your student will be miserable.

I am a student, and after going here for two years, I have had a pleasant experience. The school is filled with fabulous teachers who really care about students and go out of their way in and out of the classroom to help a student succeed.As long as the student asks questions and comes to the teacher if he/she needs extra help, most of teachers will be more than willing to help as much as they can. Everyone who works here creates a positive environment, from one of the coaches reminding students that they are loved and cared for every morning to a lunchroom employee who reminds students they have beautiful smiles. There are so many teachers who are very dedicated to what they do and are great at it. The AP teachers work very hard to ensure that their students are prepared for the college-level tests they take, resulting in high pass scores.Although no school is perfect and all have occasional fights, I as a student have not experienced or witnessed much bullying at all in the form of kids getting picked on or called names. Graduation is highly encouraged. I feel comfortable and appreciated at WBHS and though it isn't the fanciest school in the world, there's nowhere I'd rather be.

I had a lot of great teachers at WBHS. I entered a mediocre and behind student with minimal interest. I left with an inspired desire to learn and challenge myself. Thanks to all my teachers. Naturally, some aren't as good as others, but overall they are great. The only downside I'd say is the drama and bias that sometimes seems to exist in the administration on a number of areas. I rate the teachers 5/5, the administration mostly gets 2 or 3.
