Excellent teachers at the kindergarten level, and leadership is excellent with Mrs. Shanahan.

Awful experience for several years. Terrible communication. IEPs are not followed or done correctly with no District accountability. Will ignore requests from the parents and from medical professions in regards to offering more support and more proactive approaches. Children with disabilities are seen as a behavior problem, given referrals (for things not witnessed by adults) and suspensions for things that are specifically in IEP as being a disability. Not proactive or flexible into researching the root cause to be more proactive and effective. Children will be sent out of the room often and a lot of instruction time is missed rather than offering more support to prevent academic frustration in the first place. Special education teacher and administration were disrespectful, spiteful, and not openminded to solutions from parents or medical professionals. Worst school experience we have ever had as a family at any school. We pulled our child out of the district completely as it clearly is not openminded in helping our child feel successful. Lots of excuses and denial from the District. This school failed our child, so it is NOT every child learning, growing, and succeeding.

Very average experience especially with the communication style between teachers and parents.

Good, but they need to mentor younger teachers on the pitfalls of singling out students that may not be their favorite.

The principal is disinterested in parent concerns. Some teachers are more interested in painting children into their own boxes (smart vs. not smart, etc) rather than teach holistically. Other teachers are great. If you have a child with an invisible concern (ADHD, etc), stay away from this school. They do not set expectations - they patronize.
