bad school, these are the 3 reasons I got a demerit. No. 1. Laughing because I got distracted and I said sorry and everything, I cried and wasn't emotionally helped by the teachers because they do not care for mental health. The reason I started laughing and didn't stop was because I was ADHD and couldn't stop, I wasnt given time to cool down either. No 2. going outside when my homeroom teacher wasn't seen but another teacher was and they called it a safety Hazzard, so its too much of the truth they are saying they do not think this school is a safe place overall because even if a trusted guardian is outside, you have to wait for your own teacher to show up. No 3. Recently I got a demerit for making a joke to a teacher which I have been making the joke for a while now because I thought the teacher was ok with it. when the other teacher heard it she made me apologys and still gave me a demerit without hearing me out or taking any of it to thought. Not recommended to kids with disabilites or issues. with the first demerit I cried all the class and wasn't helped even a bit. the 3rd one I cried and some people checked up on me but the teachers did not care to ask if I was ok or not. overall not good with emotional support. A few years ago there was also a page dedicated to bullying on social media which was taken down but not taken care of, the bullying in this school is still bad. It has never changed. Even if you report it, the teachers don't do anything about it, they stand there and watch as the kid gets bullied and does nothing.

I attended this school several years ago and based on the reviews it hasn’t changed at all. The teachers have no idea what they are doing. The education is below average, there is no opportunity for growth. The ethnic minorities are treated poorly. Bullying is not addressed, and in many cases the teachers are the bullies. The favoritism among the student body by the teachers unbelievable. I will not allow my children to experience what I experienced. Don’t waste your money or time. Unfortunately I had to give at least 1 star if I could it would be 0 or in the negatives. If you love your child do not send them here. Even if they fit in socially you are robbing them of a decent education. This is more like an overpriced year round summer camp where they hire people to watch your kids for the day. No teaching/education is actually happening.

We can speak for nursery, pre-K, and kindergarten and say that we have been extremely happy overall with the experience. The teachers are so warm and you end up feeling like they are family. It’s a scary time to send kids to school but the school has done an amazing job dealing with constantly changing guidelines. Everyone from the teachers to the principal are easily accessible and respond to you quickly. When our son completed pre-K, his teacher stayed in touch even during the summer on her own time when she wasn’t getting paid for it, just because of the connection that the teachers make with the kids and families. I can’t speak for the upper grades but we are very happy about the experience so far.

Terrible please do not send you kids here. They will get bullied and harassed. The school doesn't even have a gym and all after school activities you have to pay for.

Horrible principle, bad teachers, and this school has no gym, and I saw a rat going into the kitchen.

as report by a lot of parent. this school does not handle bully incident very well and obviously they favor the big time donor than regular students. I would avoid this school at all cost.

Not good. Academics were very average at best. Bright child will be bored. Bad environment socially for kids. Bullying allowed, starts early(K) and continues in upper grades. Not addressed. Older teachers try to help but they don't have the backup.School "appears" good from outside (pretty, traditional building, nice playground, etc) but look beyond these. No substance, academically or in how they follow through with Catholic/Christian principles. The kind of year your child will have depends upon the teacher he/she has that year. Much better options nearby.

St. Lukes school is a wonderful place to send your child. My son is currently enrolled in kindergarten and is doing fabulously. The teachers are warm and caring and he goes in happily every day. It's not even Christmas break yet and he is already reading phonetically entire children books and writing in complete sentences. I love that they still teach old school manners like taking your hat off when you enter the building and enforce rules like walking quietly on straight lines. I would not hesitate to send your child here.

Absolutely love this school. My child is in the nursery program and they are very loving, nurturing and patient. The teachers and staff take the time to work with the children's individual needs and build a sense of community within the classroom. My child has matured a great deal since he's been here.

My kid was in early childhood program and got injured and was sent to hospital. The school didn't response to any investigation request or take any responsibility. Terrible ways of handling student matters. And bullying in this school starts early not just in upper grade.

Awful, I pulled my children out because the Bullying in the upper grades was terrible. Nothing was done about it, when I'd complain to the principal, she'd write everything down, but nothing changed! I guess the kids doing the bullying had parents making big donations, so it was swept under the rug. The teachers in the upper grades are horrible, they do nothing in class! What about class trips, making learning fun again?? Professionalism is a joke, they look like they just rolled out of bed and came to work. Everything in this school revolves around money. If you make donations, you're important. So many scandals go on & it's all kept hush. The school is so overcrowded, my child was having panic attacks in the hallway because of the congestion and noise while changing classes. I am so happy I left and would not recommend anyone register here. You will do your kids a big disservice coming here. I left and my children have never been happier.

This school has changed incredibly in the last two years. It no longer has concern for its student population but how it rates in economics. Its main concern is money and if you are not able to contribute monetarially, then your child will not be viewed as important. However, if the child's parents donated substantially, then the child will not suffer and will get any and all the extra help he or she needs.

Pay is better in public system b/c parents like US are flipping bill for your teacher's salaries by paying our taxes. Newsflash- it's been that way for a long time. That factoid has nothing to do w/the school's performance which is great. BTW-"strickly" is not a word and Catholic is capitalized. I don't blame SL's for your grammar, schools can only do so much, ya know? The student factors into this too! AMEN!

just a quick word - i have two cousins that graduated public school and public college and are now teaching your children in catholic school- they are awaiting public positions because public school teachers make higher pay because there is so much more learning involved! it all depends on the individual, and the manners that are learned at home- i know a lot of children from st.lukes that have the worst mouths ever! and let me not tell you about their manners! disgusting! even their parents tell me that they pick it up in school- so it does not matter which school they attend it depends strickly on the individual and the parents- public school is the way to go!!!! i even attended this st lukes school and graduated and there were fights all the time! boys and girls it did not matter! again its all about the money and it is very sad!!!!!!!! public schools are incredible and more and more catholic schooll parents are taking their children out of catholic and are putting them in public due to the learning we have new children coming into the public system all the time!!!! amen to that!!!!!

I have two children in SL's. All I can say is WONDERFUL! Good teachers, good community, good solid curriculum! What I love most is the community-oriented afterschool activities. You get to know all the parents/kids. Let's face it people, there is NOTHING new under the sun w/r to education, your kid is as smart as he/she is n' you can't change that, no matter what fancy "name"/catchwords people use, like "academy", "magnet school" or "gifted n' talented". Just new window dressing on old curricula, a gimmick to make the parents feel good about their kids n' from what I hear, just more homework for the parents! It's up to us, the parents, to provide enrichment! Saint Luke's is a great school for great kids!
