My daughter started attending Sequoia in Kindergarten, she is now in the first grade and still loving it! As a parent and educator myself, in selecting a school which I felt was a good fit was important to me. Before enrollment occurred, I visited and got a tour so I could see what was happening in the school. I literally got chills when I saw and heard all of the amazing things that Sequoia was doing to benefit children's love for learning. The administrator, teachers, staff and PTA really consider the whole child approach, provide learning opportunities and extracurricular enrichment to fulfill different interests that children attending may have. As a parent I am happy to know that my daughter is learning CGI math strategies, using Thinking Maps, incorporating technology/STEAM activities and has a college and career focus to help develop her skills daily in a safe learning environment.

The GATE Magnet Program and changes at Sequoia are amazing. Students have the opportunity to participate in enrichment opportunities in the Arts, Robotics, and STEAM. It is a great program.

10/10My daughter has attended Kindergarden through second grade at Sequoia and we love it. The program offered at Sequoia is unlike any other elementary school. Since Kindergarten, my daughter has been using GATE, AVID, and STEM strategies and learning robotics, piano keyboarding, videography, and even Spanish as a second language. They have so many wonderful things happening at Sequoia, she is already looking forward to 3rd grade next year!

I would rate this school 10/10. My children are learning skills at an earlier age and that will benefit them as they get older. Such as writing skills, they are learning to write multiple complete sentences at kinder level and it will only progress as they enter each grade.

My personal experience at Sequoia has been fantastic; From the principal to the front office staff to the teachers to the specialists. I have had nothing but positive experiences. I am exciting for my children to be a part of the STEAM enrichment programs they offer. I have heard from other parents that the history Walk Through Assemblies are amazing. I'm glad Sequoia has a dedicated PTA that sponsors the assemblies and field trips that are offered. My daughter comes home excited everyday from school and loves the new Music Lab! She loves learning how to play the keyboard. I could go on and on...

I have three children attending Sequoia. Our experience has been great. The PTA sponsors many fun family events throughout the year. I have attended a couple of PTA meetings and really like the well thought out planning and comradery between the all the members. The principal is amazing. She's always available to answer any questions I might have. The staff is friendly and helpful. Each of my children ended up with the perfect teacher for them. My children are thriving and happy at Sequoia.

I am very satisfied with Sequoia Elementary School. My daughter has been there for 4 years now. Her teachers have been exceptional in professional conduct, passion for teaching and keeping my husband and I informed. The office is well managed and they truly care for my child. The principal is ambitious and very involved in the school community.

My daughter is a kindergartener at Sequoia and we could not be happier. The office staff is always very friendly and helpful. The principle is exceptional. She is also the parent of a WSD student, so she relates with our needs and concerns while being easy to communicate with. She has gone above and beyond to establish our school as a GATE Magnet school, which is in the works, and also an AVID Elementary school. These programs are the next level of 21st century learning, so I'm thankful to have my daughter attend there. It's amazing that my 5 year old is already using thinking maps and depth and complexity icons for higher-level thinking!! I'm truly shocked at how quickly she has excelled in writing, reading, and math since September. Every teacher I've met at Sequoia is friendly and personable. My daughter adores both her kindergarten teachers and her teachers at the after school program, ESP (Extended School Program), that she attends when I'm stuck late at work. Not only do they help her get her homework finished correctly, but they actually teach extention lessons that are aligned with regular classroom curriculum and they play organized sports. She also enjoys attending Sequoia's quarterly Saturday School Academy. Not only does one Saturday (8am to 12:15pm) make up for one full day absence on her record, but she has enjoyed gardening, painting, yoga, ceramics, and some amazing STEM/STEAM lessons already this year! Being that Sequoia is a small campus, it's easy to feel like part of a big family. The PTA sponsors many outside activities such as skate night, Chuck E Cheese nights, a trunk-or-treat Halloween celebration, movie nights, and the big one we're looking forward to, the spring carnival, to name a few. The school is situated in a small residential neighborhood, but parking is usually a breeze. They are currently installing a solar-panel parking cover in the parking lot, but that construction is almost complete. Besides, hearing my daughter tell me all about how the new panels will "collect energy from the sun" is well worth the extra 3 minutes it takes to find a parking spot.

I currently have both my children and my nephew attending Sequoia. My son and nephew have been there since kindergarten, they are in second grade right now, and my daughter is in kindergarten. The teaching staff is amazing. My children's teachers go above and beyond to make sure their students are having a successful, and memorable school year. The office staff is always very welcoming with a smile on their faces. The principal we've been so lucky to get this year has already done so many amazing things this year and I know there are more wonderful things in store for us. There are so many positive things to say about Sequoia I could on and on. My children have had very positive experiences in the few years they have been there.

There is a few bad eggs in this basket so watch out... Most of the Teachers for the most part do the best they can. This Principal used to try to better things. Went to a PTA meeting, and won't go again. What happened to caring? That meeting was how can I hurt the Teachers today. Very sad bunch. My daughter had the day lights scared out of her from the Nurse telling her Stories about her Inhaler, and how it damages her teeth. Wasn't a good idea her telling that to her when my daughter needs it to help her breath. Then she needed a new note to have the new Inhaler with the new directions that is STATED right on the prescription. Of course the Nurse doesn't tell me that when I already went to go get the new prescription for her that she said was almost out dated when she called me the other day. It is tough getting appointments during this flu season. Another deductible I have to pay to make another trip to go get a note. They lost the Chamber that is to be used with her prescription so they have been giving it to her without it. I bought that too, and now I have to buy another one. Do they REALLY care about our kids??? I don't feel they like there Job...

MY 7 yr old son does very well at this school, no thanks to the fact that they are on the 3rd teacher in his 1st grade classroom. The parents weren't even notified that there were substitues for a month, before my kid let me know. On the positive side the current principal isn't to blame for teachers leaving and she was very helpful with communicating with me when I contacted her. the school is safe and the curriculum age appropriate as well as the discipline there. My biggest concern is that my son is in an old portable that leaked water from the AC unit for the 1st 5 months of school.
