The staff and families are welcoming and supportive. Our children starting attending last school year and we have found our children are engaged and doing well. My youngest started TK and his teacher is wonderful. We are having some difficulties with and IEP & I am praying we can get it worked out. Unfortunately Westminster School District has not been known for doing well with IEP’s. I hope they prove that to be wrong but, so far that has not been the case. Hopefully in the near future, that will change and I can update this review. Eastwood is the most coveted elementary in the district along with Schroder. If your child ends up attending here, you would not be disappointed.

My daughter will be entering 1st grade in the Fall. I love the office staff and school nurse. The principal is in tune with the students and they love him. My daughter's kindergarten teacher was nice but not as communicative as I would've liked. PTA is the bomb and really hooks the kids up. Love this school so far and am looking forward to what the future bring. I wish they had a dual immersion program though

I have been repeatedly impressed with the staff and teachers at this school and have had 3 children attending for the past 5 years. The PTA's commitment to adding enrichment programs and the parent involvement is amazing!

My daughter has been going to this school for three years now. She started with the pre k program and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher Mrs. Schwarz. Also she was able to keep the same teacher for the following year in kindergarten. She just started 1st grade and so far....so good. I would reccomend this school to my friends and family.

As a parent and former student I had such high hopes for my children at Eastwood. The teachers my oldest child has had have been nurturing and helpful. The principal seems like she could care less if you have an issue. You get pacified just enough to not go any further ie the school district. The office staff are nothing short of rude and snobbish. The dynamics of the majority of the parents and PTA members are reminiscent of the cliques in jr. High. The bullying that goes on with the children definitely starts at home. The parents are no better. The principal has her head so far up their ( the PTAs) a**.that nothing could be done about these control freaks even if someone tried. Security is a joke as far as who can come and go on campus. If it weren't for the fact that my child has made some really great friends and I as well with those children's parents I would have put them in a completely different district. It's very disappointing to see what a joke this once stellar school has become.

Really great teachers and a great Principal. My children have attended Eastwood for about 3 years, and have experienced so many racial slurs and have been slighted out because of their black skin because of their black skin.. hopefully one day my kids will be judged by the merits of their character and not the color of their skin....I have a dream!!!!

The academics are great but when you have to deal with the dynamics out on the playground I think the staff needs some serious restructuring along with the principal. There have been too many times when my child has come home crying because of kids on the playground and the bullying that the staff allows to go on.

I'm very disappointed to see all the negative comments about such a fantastic school. I attended Eastwood, and I have two boys who will be attending as well. I cannot imagine them going to any other elementary school. I have the utmost confidence in sending my boys there. I have heard nothing but great things from friends who's children attend the school. It may be that some children who are not challenged by public school curriculum, should possibly be home schooled or in a private school. Considering what we hear and see about schools now days, Eastwood far exceeds the standard.

My children are excelling, happy and engaged. There is a a fine balance of new and old school teaching methods, which I believe makes my children successful learners. So far all the teachers my children have had show compassion, and dedication to their education. The parent involvement at Eastwood is like no other I have heard of. Our family looks forward to attending Eastwood for the many years we have to come!
