A majority of students here are fine. Though, fights tend to happen a lot and the principal doesn't really do anything. School dances are honestly kind of boring. One thing I would like to mention is the way teachers are, how I got bullied and the teachers/principal did nothing and put the blame on me. Teachers are stressful when it comes to work, but that's every school right? I feel that after the pandemic they have been putting out their stress on kids, and giving them a bad attitude honestly. Anyways moving on, I was once bullied by a bunch of 8th graders almost everyday. They took it too far and tried to push me, of course in self defense I blocked him. Guess what? I got in trouble. I was the one who got detention instead, and suspended for 2 days. The bullies got nothing. They called me a liar and that the bullies are older so they are more mature, and that there's "no proof" that they hit me despite my friend having proof they did. My math and Viet teacher would always call me out because of my bad grades, and test scores INFRONT of the class. She would say, "___ here got the lowest score in the class. How could you fail this test?" and kids would look at me, I felt like a failure. She would practically bully me over the tiniest things, yelled at me whenever I got a question wrong. When I didn't know how to do an equation, she yelled at me and said I didn't pay attention when she rushed the class and I simply just couldn't understand how to do the equations. I left this school feeling like a complete failure, she ruined my self esteem and I decided to do japanese instead of vietnamese because of the way she would call me out.

Homework is load is very doable. Secondly, teachers and staff are great. Although, students are immature when it comes to explicit content.

My experience was OKAY. I met some people that I'm still friends with till this day (~7 years). Teachers never made a huge impact in my life. The only teacher that is memorable to me is the strings teacher just because she made my experience horrible. Anyways, I grew and I learned and I'm glad that I went to this school because it made me into the person I am today, even if the teacher was a bully.

I would rate the experience like an average school. It meets all the basic fundamentals and goes beyond, but doesn't focus on the character of students. The school focuses on academic achievements.

Mcgarvin in 8th grade is too hard and there are barely any clubs. I miss Wolf Lake Middle because the homework is easier andvthey have so many clubs like track in field, FFA, volleyball, basketball NJHS,beta club, running club, chess club, and anime club

Homework on the weekends. Makes us run for miles. Teachers don't care for students. Bad.

I have been attending McGarvin for over three months now. The teachers are so helpful, funny, yet expects a lot from us. The principal and vice principal are friendly and kind. All the students are very welcoming and has a lot of school spirit.I love that this school has a bully box. The only thing I don't like about this school are the office members. They are so bitter and unfriendly.

I love being in the McGarvin choir. We get to perform at different places other than our school. It helped me gain more confidence and also improve my voice. I also really love my other classes as well, but I dislike the fact that McGarvin makes you run a lot in P.E. In addition, I love all the teachers (especially Mrs. Olsen) and all McGarvin's learning programs. Go McGarvin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
