The teachers were really kind! I had Sr. Kikawa and he was always encouraging our class to learn Spanish every day with a smile on his face. He also interacts positively with students and makes fun jokes.

My son is enrolled here as a freshman. I have a nephew here starting 10th grade. The principal is female so not sure if prior reviewer from 2022 who mentioned a male was referring to one of the 4 vice principals. School seems well organized and divides students up by alphabet for counselors to ensure everyone is getting the assistance they need. There is an on campus police officer on call so safety is there. Not sure why another viewer prefers Bolsa Grande on basis that students get homework here. Schools are SUPPOSED to give you homework and you're SUPPOSED to do work. That is no basis on which to give a poor review. Unless I have solid evidence the school is not servicing its students, I don't see a reason not to give this school any less than 4 stars from what I have seen. The campus looks newer and is cleaner than the other schools I have seen in the area that look more like a prison than school because they were built awhile back.

This school has many good teachers and many teachers that are just going through the motions. The administration is uninvolved with the students. The principal maybe knows the names of 50 student. The principal and the majority of his supporting staff are unsupportive of the teachers when they ask for help. They are uneducated on the current laws as well as students with disabilities. The environment is not warm nor conducive to collaboration with families. It is their way or go somewhere else.Teachers are not held accountable when they do not follow and IEP. The staff has had no training on accommodations. If my child was not above average I would not send them to this school. When considering this school one should look at the transfer rate and the dropout rate. Graduation rate is not correlated with the freshman registration rate. It is based on how many of the 12th graders graduate.

My son went to this school and was bated into an argument by a faculty member. Since, my son was immature and could not handle being taunted in front of his class by his teacher, he lashed out at him, and as a result, he was reprimanded by transfer to another school. Now, this fulfilled at least a couple of faculty members wishes. One counselor, who was not my son's counselor, actually said my son would get kicked out of school. A teacher told my son the counselor said that about him. One might think that people become educators for altruistic reasons. However, that is not true of everyone. Idk, why would a school counselor say that about a child that is having problems?Just an update, my son is doing VERY WELL in college. In fact, he is getting all A's and B's and working on two degrees at the same time. He is going to become a pilot and a flight manager. He is talking about getting a Master's degree. Now, I know he will be successful. Too bad that doesn't fit into some of these faculty members little scenarios. Just because someone is a teacher it does not make them a prophet that can tell who will make it and who will not. In fact, they are doing these children an injustice by staying in the teaching profession, if they don't want to help everyone. If they are sticking their noses in the air at some of these kids. My son is much better than me. He wouldn't waste his time writing these people a bad review. We'll just see who becomes successful, won't we?

The students are actually what make this school great; they are, generally, hard working and well mannered. The administration does not seem to have a clue about how some of the teachers conduct their classes. There are some teachers who are just too critical and even some who don't teach well. In today's competetive atmosphere, students are already anxious to excell, and instead of making it possible for students to do so comfortably, the school is structured such that kids have no time to get the rest that the administration, ironically, keeps telling us is so important for our kids' well-being! The school even had the nerve to hold sessions for parents on how to deal with students' anxiety. It would help if the kids had more than 30 minutes for lunch, some comfortable places to sit during breaks, and less hours spent on extracurricular activities' practice hours. With all that is expected of them, in addition to a campus that has been half under construction for the last few years, the fact that the students do so well can almost entirely be attributed to their own efforts.

The staff holds the students to a high standard. Various courses are offered for all levels of learners. Students are given every opportunity to succeed if they do their part.

The school was below average. The campus is horrible but the school is still remodeling. The students are isolated into groups and makings friends is difficult. Athletics aren't great. Overall the school isn't anything magnificent and the teachers aren't that helpful. One teacher stood out as a jerk and barely even taught the class.

The teacers are helpful, the students are wonderfully behaved and there are little to no vandalism/drug/bullying/sexual harassment/gang/violence issues. This is one of the best scholls in Garden Grove District the assistant principle is always very helpful he tells the students when they have any problems question or just want to talk to come to his office....
