This school staves kids and makes them do things they don’t want to do and they make kids cry and have depression and anxiety. My child said the teachers are mean and they don’t do anything about bullying my child is coming home with bruises from school i will be suing this school

Great school. My only complain (for which I took 1 star) - transportation in the school is horrible. Buses are chronically late and you need to live pretty far from school to be eligible for the ride. Other than that, our daughter is happy in this school.

First 2 year my son had caring teachers and worried about him succeeding in class. Now he has teacher that judges him all the time. With no care whatsoever. She’s only collecting a paycheck.

An example of what went on and why we ended up leaving this school. Bullying will not be tolerated and it was an ongoing issue ,This happened on the first day of school after the ending to last year. This is an email we sent to the teachers and the princpal after this bullying continued on the first day of school : "Our Son went to get breakfast first thing at School and went to sit and eat in the area between classrooms. He walked by the same group of mean girls who made his life at school miserable last year as a transfer student. They then proceeded to "oh here come the big dumb boy" and , "the big bully". Our son didn't respond and sat down to eat as he was very excited for his first day of school. At the end of last school year, the Assistant Principal assured us the four+ mean girls would not be in the same class as him, and here we are the first day and one of the mean girls are in his homeroom class and more in the class across from him. Secondly, HIs 2nd grade teacher told us last year the reason why they were so cruel to my son as the new kid, was because they "liked" him. This is another failure of the school to go around actually addressing the problem. Lastly, this group of mean girls has told my son "you shouldn't be alive", "you shouldn't have been born, "freckle faced weirdo" and "big dumb bully". I wished it stopped there, but to up the ante as a group of mean girls, they lied to the teacher about him stealing their pen last year. Only once we were called and saw the picture of the military pen his father gave him, was it realized that he was innocent in this matter, and the mean girls were at fault. Directly after this, one of the girls physically threatened to hit my son , and to make him flinch, and he was removed from the classroom, not the mean girls. For the above, my son was singled out and made to sit alone by the teacher to keep the mean girls at bay in the classroom and at lunch. I hope you can see why we are thoroughly dismayed with these recurring issues this year. Much of the above has been documented, and I would love to sit and have a chat with the mean girls' parents and come to resolve the issue. I am not naive and understand my son has probably responded to the girls, however he is very hurt by the mean girls' words and actions against him. Please respond with due haste so we can address these issues with my son at Watergrass elementary, and give him the same learning experience of the other great kids there. "

This school use to be amazing when Mr. Mitchell was principle. Once he retired and we got the new principle the school really went downhill. There is no bullying policy here and if there is one it's not practiced or enforced. My kids HATE this school and the children that go here (obviously not every single one) are disrespectful, potty mouthed bullies. Their parents are no better. Tons of fighting between students and bullying that is not taken care of. The staff in the front is very hit and miss and the teachers are hit and miss too. A lot of them are out a lot and then the substitutes mostly are terrible. You don't need to have any sort of qualifications to be a substitute which is just mind blowing. A lot of the teachers are fresh out of school and have never even thought a class and can't handle the class. Majority of the teachers just don't care. If you have an IEP or 504 they don't follow it and don't have the staff for it, but they don't tell you either. The communication between the school isn't great either. My kids have gone to other schools from different states and have never hated going to school but they cannot stand going to school here.

Exceptional! We have had incredible teachers and staff support. This school is very clean. All of the children seem to be respectful of each other and their teachers.

In my book, this school is an 11. My child has been here since Kindergarten and I have been nothing but happy with the school. The staff is amazing. They all know the kids, care about them, and want to see them do well. Mr. Mitchell, the principal, is great. You can tell that he has built a genuine rapport with the kids, the parents and staff to help make the school a family unit. The school has an active PTA and lots of extra-curricular events for the students and families to participate in. I would highly recommend this elementary school for anyone moving into the area.

My overall personal experience at the school during events or meetings has been less then satisfactory. The lacking information shared between teachers, aides and parents is well below expectations for the class size. That coupled with the experiences my child has had, I can say I am currently looking for new schools.

I should have pulled my child out sooner than I did.

Wonderful school! Fairly new with current technology and facilities. Excellent traditional curriculum as well as nice music and p.e. Program. Well run PTA and fun extra events for the kids through out the year (movie night, bingo, field days/carnivals). Diverse student population so all ethnic groups are at home here and children are rewarded for skills as well as behavioral leadership. Administration cares and offers an open door. Children thrive here.

Wow thanks for the feedback and sorry your child has gone through this! . I have two kids at this school. I know you probably don't want to say who that teacher is but can you at least say what grade? I don't want my kids in a class with a teacher like that. Have you told anyone about this???

Parents be warned. This school is OVER RATED. Dropped from an A to a C school in public school ratings PER STATE of FLORIDA. Credit should be given where due. Yes the administration meets and greets students coming and going with a warm smile, and knows them by name, but that means NOTHING in the grand scheme of things by the end of the day when your child spends their entire day at school supposidly being educated to have to come home and spend hours on homework, computer lessons and tutoring. God forbid if teachers are called out on the carpet to actually communicate appropriately to parents and STUDENTS. Trust me, if your child says that the teacher is acting uncivil in class, terrifying, degrading, embarrassing, yelling, and acting out of sorts with your student or classmates it is probably true. Also, if you do desire OLD FASHIONED communication like in the "olden days" i.e. by phone or in person, your chances are slim to none in that department with some of the staff, even after pleading. DONT BLINK, read/keep ALL notes home. If you feel that you were not told something that is prob true too. LOTS of communication problems, LOTS!!!! PRAY hard for your kids and GOOD LUCK!
