The overall experience at Gause Elementary was not a positive one. The environment for my child was not ideal which was starting to effect him emotionally, to the point of him begging to stay home most mornings. A supportive environment is crucial for a child's success and Gause wasn't able to provide that for our son, who at times struggles to focus. The teacher and principal seemed to focus solely on his weaknesses during parent/teacher conferences with very minimal discussion of strengths, which left us feeling discouraged and frustrated. I could not put my child through another year there so we requested a boundary exception to another school, where he is actually thriving and likes to go to school. The new school has great teachers and a principal that actually care and give great support.

We’ve had a great experience at Gause with both our girls. We’ve had great teachers and the absolute best front office secretaries Dana and Jennifer. All of the specialists are wonderful, especially the art teacher Jessica Fetko-a true gem. The principle Tami Culp really cares about the students and engages the community. Like every school there are problem kids and parents but the majority of families we’ve encountered are kind and inclusive and respectful.

I am a student that went to Gause Elementary and it was the worst experience of my life. I was bullied for 3 years straight and nothing was done about it. The teachers said to tell an adult and so i did but the only thing they did was defend the kids who were bullying me and told me to ignore it. I did not get the learning i needed at Gause and the only thing i was focusing on is what to say to the bullies. Its safe to say that Gause is the worst thing that ever happened to me. I am now at Canyon Creek Middle School and i love it! The kids and teachers are so nice and they care about others alot. Canyon is fun and has alot of activites that Gause didnt have and we get a way better education. Therefore, i recommend Cape Horn Skye or Canyon Creek.

Needs training with special needs children, or listening clearly to parents concerns. This has been my experience after 4 years.

Both of my boys go to Gause and they love it so far. The preschool teachers, Ms Lisa and Ms Nikki are amazing. You can see how much they care about your child and their academic success. Mrs Goodling was wonderful with my kindergarten child as well. She made sure that he was challenged and not held back just because he was already doing advanced work. Would recommend this school without reservation.

There are many dedicated teachers who are great with the kids. Class size is small compared to other schools. Great after school programs as well.

This school has REAL problems with kids bullying. My son made three attempts to ask for help at the school, and was accused of lying or told to work it out himself. My husband and I both contacted school but saw few results. School does not have any extracurricular activities beyond fundraising events. Only exception seemed to be the early morning band. Instructor is the shining star of this school. We moved kids out of district on a boundary exception to avoid their return to Gause.
