My children just transferred to CSD from Reynolds (4th grade) and David Douglas (10th grade). They are both exceptionally happy here and the administration is bending over backwards to help my daughter who is in the autism spectrum. This is, by far, the best thing I ever could have done for my kids by getting them into this school! The teachers and staff are amazing and genuinely care about the students.

The school administration targets bipoc and low income children with unjustifiable suspensions, they overlook bullying from kids whose parents work at or work with the school administration or the school board, and it creates a hostile learning environment for the students. They don’t help kids with disabilities, they literally pass them through every class on paper, without actually helping them gain any meaningful knowledge to help them thrive in life.

Admin has no interest in listening to parents or community regarding important issues: bullying, budget, accountability, AP for all, and much more. If you’re not on board with their agenda they have no use for you. It’s a super sad time for many families in the CSD. We pulled our kids out because of the ineptitude and their lack of interest in doing what is best for students, families, and our community.

The school sucks but I'd rather deal with groups of 12 boys juuling in the bathroom than actual peer pressure and drugs

Terrible! The bullying problem here is way out of control! Kids are bullied by their peers as well as some of the staff. The victims Of bullying get suspended, sent home, & in some cases end up getting transferred to another school without the parents knowledge or consent. They don't care about the students. They act like the parents have no say when it comes to their child's education.

From what I know and have seen, I don't agree with how they re class rooms share 2 different age group's. To me it gives room for a child's learning ability to slack. The staff has about 3 out 30 people I've meet or pasted in the hall way that are actually nice. They all look like they need a vacation. This school to me expects more from the community in funds than teaching children. This school once had a name for its self but, honestly needs to be properly reviewed.

My daughter transferred to a close-by district and was very behind for her grade level. The district is more focused on hiding the personal life of the superintendent than educating their students.

Springdale School, which is now known as CAPS (Corbett Arts Program with Spanish), is a recently renovated old school house K-8 school offering the finest in Corbett-quality schooling. Additions include arts and music and all students study Spanish. It's a great school and we are really glad that our students get to be a part of this remarkable program.

Although Corbett is known for its great academic opportunities and success rates.. it is a horrible school.I have been going there for four years and each year it gets worse. Corbett high school has a horrible bullying problem which our principal doesn't seem to care about. For three years I have been bullied. I reported it and all I got was a "there's nothing we can do." Statement. I have had several friends even sexually harassed and they got the same statement. And it continued so they left school. The kids are mean to anyone who is the slightest bit different. I know all schools have problems with kids behaviors but Corbett is a school who won't help a student in need. And will let the kids behave the way they do and doesn't even try to stop it.

My son is entering the 3rd grade at Corbett Elementary, where he has been for several years now. The teaching staff at Corbett are dedicated and experienced. He has some good friends at school, and we are very happy. I just found out that he'll be taking beginning Band this year, which is great. The multi-age classrooms have also been very successful with our son. We live outside the district (in Gresham), and entered through a boundary exception. We don't regret the decision at all. The schools are high quality. There is some (minority) political animosity in the community about the district serving students from outside Corbett, although because of the way operating funds for students come from the state with the student, I believe the district is much stronger for having the transfer students. We are considering buying a home and moving to Corbett in the future, as we'll have two kids going through school there; I mention that because I suspect that having the high quality schools with some out-of-district students helps property values in the Corbett community.
