This school is very terrible, out of my 3 years of being here i can say this is the worst school i have ever been to. When i went to venice middle school since i cant speak english very well.. People and staff have made fun of me for it. And when ur one second late you get isr. (IN SCHOOL RESTRICTION) And when you dont have your badge once u will get dention the next day. Ive spend more days in isr then in lunch. Staff are very rude and i would not go to this school if you want to have a godo time here without getting b ullied harrased and assaqulted by everyone in this school you get lunch dention so much then it makes you want to give up. i am a past student

This is a wonderful and much changed public school. The surrounding area and demographics have grown so much in the past 15 years that the schools in this area have as well. So, the VMS today is not VAMS, as it was formerly called before Noth Port schools existed. VMS is the public feeder school to VHS and has the largest student body in this area, despite the reduced geographic areas mentioned above. This also means that they have the most programs available to serve their diverse population. The Arts programs, the Young Marines program, and the programs designed to support ESE and 504 students set this school apart from the local charter schools because of this reason. Also, the teachers are excellent and certified, as it is a desirable school to teach at in this area, and the principal is supportive. Most students find themselves in a grouped team, depending on classes. For example, students on the gifted team are usually grouped together since they have classes together. This can be a plus if students are worried about attending a school of 800 students. It never really feels that big.

My middle school experience was absolutely Horrible, I’m special needs and have an IEP, and the staff is absolutely horrible and rude and just terrible overall and don’t get me started on the teachers, not all of them are bad, I still have some great teachers who I still keep in touch with, but a lot of the teachers don’t care at all whatsoever. The students are absolutely cruel and mean and terrible and the staff did nothing about it and in fact I was the one who got (ISS) for things that were absolutely not true and in fact it was the bullies who were telling lies on me. I got in trouble for standing up for myself and fighting back, which is absolute bogus. They caused me my PTSD, and when I was leaving middle school we threatened to sue them and we we’re actually going to go through with it then all of a sudden they did what we wanted, they wanted to push it under that rug to shut us up. Another thing is they LIED about a major test I took so that I could get help in the future. So overall they’re terrible, and if you have a special needs child I personally DO NOT recommend AT ALL send your child there, they will be hurt and it will not be fun for them. They NEED TO DO BETTER PERIOD.

My son is very happy at Venice Middle School. The teachers there are great.

It was a cesspool of bullying & fights when I went there and has not changed one iota as far as i can tell. The staff is AFRAID of punishing bullies in my opinion. Victims are much easier to control. The people in charge there are lazy & useless. Fix this problem or everyone will be alerted. I Promise.

My son's grades shot up to a 3.4 GPA while attending V.M.S. They are really hands on here and I would recommend this School to anyone.

Well... when I attended this school back in 2006-08ish, I can say some teachers were awesome and some were terribly lazy. In addition, I remember kids were fighting everywhere, regardless of security being there... possibly my worst experience of schooling. But as said some good, some bad.
