Lincoln is a wonderful place where children thrive academically and socially in a nurturing environment. The teachers are passionate and go above and beyond to ensure each student feels supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. With its strong emphasis on creativity, community, and character-building, this school truly prepares children for a bright future.

My twins just completed kindergarten through 5th grade at Lincoln. I waited six years to write this review to ensure that I had a complete picture of the school. This school is SO MUCH MORE than the sad little "3" rating this website gives it. I feel unbelievably lucky that we ended up buying a house in this neighborhood and our kids got to experience this gem of a school. Just some of our experiences and observations:1. One of my twins is neurotypical. He had an excellent experience at Lincoln, with small class sizes, truly caring teachers, and opportunities to pursue more advanced learning when ready. He made great friends and blossomed. 2. One of my twins is neurodiverse. He had an excellent experience at Lincoln, with small class sizes, truly caring teachers, and opportunities to pursue more advanced learning when ready. His kindergarten teacher will always be the gold standard of teachers in my mind; she saw his strong intellect and tender heart first, always, and saw his emotional and behavioral issues as challenges to help him work through. She eased his way to first grade when he was so anxious about leaving her, and each of his subsequent teachers taught his next teacher how to bring out the best in him. Thanks to these teachers, what could have been a painful and stressful place turned into one of his favorite places to go. In six years he never said he didn't want to go to school that day. His 5th grade teacher's care, support and great teaching has ensured that he's going to middle school feeling confident and ready. 3. The library is the heart of the school, and it's huge, has a great selection of books, comfortable places to hang out, and an excellent librarian who engages kids and helps them love reading.4. Counselors make regular visits to the classroom to provide age-appropriate lessons on managing emotions and conflict.5. The family resource center provides all kinds of assistance for Lincoln families, including food, clothes, and company. 6. Lincoln's classrooms are modern and comfortable, and the playground is large and well-maintained.7. Extra-curricular activities are unusually strong for the elementary school level, including track for 4th and 5th graders, band, a theater program, etc. If you're thinking about sending your kids to Lincoln, don't hesitate. It's a wonderful place.

Absolutely horrible, the principal lacks contact when necessary. The playground support staff bullies students. They overlook the bullying among the children most times too, or never seem to have an adequate solution.

Overall we have been happy with our experience at Lincoln Elementary. We came to this school under a boundary exception due to child care. The Exception process is a JOKE - they do not accept students until AFTER THE SCHOOL YEAR STARTS. And if your child needs to ride the bus, expect 2 weeks of taking your child to school. So far, this process is my only issue with this school.Music - Mr.Smith is engaging, funny - seems like he was an actual DJ before he was a teacher...the Winter program was delayed but he does great job keeping everyone moving forward.Kindergarten is my only experience as far as grade; Miss Jennalee Garcia Montero is engaged, fun and puts in any effort needed. She's always been responsive to questions or concerns and our son loves her style. I have heard a few times (from my son) that some of the older kids pick on or bully others, but have not experienced that in Kinder. I think they try to keep a good handle on it (sorry if this isn't your personal experience) and regularly hear my kindergartener speaking out against bullying. You can tell they're trying to get them young.Overall, I would like to say I would send my child here next year if we were staying in Vancouver. The curriculum is Common Core which is interesting to learn. The principal seems mild mannered and fair. You are not going to be worse off for sending your kid to Lincoln Elementary!

There is a lot of bullying that goes on at this school. When you go to the principal you are made to feel as if things are going to get taken care of but they continue. Then you feel as if your hands are tied and there is nothing you can do to help your child. The teachers there are great. They are caring and really want each child to succeed. They will go out of their way to help a child. I have even seen teachers helping students that were not in their class. The only thing stopping me from giving the school a higher grade is the fact of the bullying and how it is handled.

I'm very disappointed in Lincoln elementary school. I had heard great things about this school and bought our house in this neighborhood based on what I had heard. My son has been there for two years now and all I can say is I'm disappointed. The staff is rude and speaks to parents like they speak to students. The staff gossips about parents to other parents. I dread walking to pick up my son and driving to pick up my son. The education my son is getting is comparable with any other school. That said, I would choose a school with lesser ratings where he got the same education without the snobby, snooty attitude.

Two of my children are currently enrolled a Lincoln, and I have been pleased every school year with their teachers. The student population is diverse in both experience and aptitude, yet the teachers are able to meet everyone's needs, whether that means remediation for missing skills or challenge extensions for the more gifted learners. Lincoln is undoubtedly the best of the downtown neighborhood school options.

This school is one of the best I have seen in several states! Smaller class sizes, and individual attention to the children, makes me LOVE MY CHILDREN TO ATTEND LINCOLN!
