I would recommend this school. They work with students to achieve academic success, provide great communication with parents and they have many extracurricular actives to keep students engaged in the school.

Kids get in many fights, lots of bullying, kids who vape, coming from a student too. Teachers dont do anything to discipline.

so i went here for the past three years and i actually hated it. in the moment i didnt realize how bad it was and thought everyone had a bad middle school experience but i was WRONG. once i left for high school i was shook to my core. turns out it’s actually possible for people to be kind to people they dont know, and pay attention in class without random kids screaming. when i say nobody cares or listens i mean it. i got good grades and stuff because thats who i am it had nothing to do with this school. honestly majority of teachers are kind hearted and care but they kids make it so had for them to do so. i’ve seen many of my teachers crack under the pressure and its even worse to see especially once i've moved schools and see that there are actually normal students in schools. all the kids do drugs just saying right i dont care if you think you know a “good” kid trust me their doing it too. nobody gets in trouble. honestly fire the security guards they dont do anything anyways they just like to play besties with the kids.

Horrible school. I went here for the past three years and graduated this year. When I first moved to this school I didn't know anyone and was a little left out. Nobody makes any effort to talk to others outside their friends group. A main group of kids are rude and so judgemental towards everyone not in their group for no reason. Kids also make friends with security guards and principals and don't get any punishment for anything they do ever. It's ridiculous. Most of the teachers are lovely and spend so much time planning lessons to engage kids but never get to fully fulfill it because most of the kids even in honors classes don't pay attention constantly interrupt and make huge scenes just because they don't want to be in class. Horrible drug problems at this school literally everyone does it here. I can only bake maybe 5 people out of the whole school who doesn't. Even the kids you wouldn't expect to, do and are just better at hiding it. I tried to convince myself that because this school is filled with POC and people from all different social classes go here that they were kinder and less racist and such but they're more. And nothing is done about it.

Is there a minus 10? This school is the worse school I have ever been in. I'm a retired school teacher and have been in education for more than 30 years.

I hate this school! I would not recommend sending your child here at all. I never want to go back here.

Absolutely horrible. The assistant principal is amazing, but even she can't fix what is wrong with this school. Sadly, my child is easily influenced by other kids, and he was in trouble A LOT! By the time he realized what he was doing to himself it was too late. He had that "bad kid" reputation that so many here have. We literally moved this summer just to get him out of this school.

We've had a wonderful experience with Discovery Middle School. The staff goes out of their way to make sure my daughter feels safe, comfortable and welcome every day. They offer great and affordable sports programs including basketball, volleyball, track, bowling, and more. It seems like daily there is a new activity or event taking place to keep the children engaged. Good job Discovery!

This is a wonderful middle school, the teachers strive to help students understand what they are learning and why they are learning it and help the students remember. Discovery also has an outstanding arts program, this includes arts/theater rotation, Choir, Band and Orchestra all of the arts teachers care about the well being of there students and love to help them. I go to Discovery, its amazing. Our school is an MYP school. It stands for middle years program.
