I attended Burnet a couple of years ago. I think it’s a pretty good school to send your child too

Yo honestly the kids are mad loud and aggressive. They be acting like animals. There are a whole bunch of kids who are racist and sexist and homophobic. They also tend to make up a lot of rumors. A lot of the teachers are pretty chill. Like Mrs.Mueller has to have been my favorite teacher that I got the whole time I have been here. The school is not the cleanest. You can find a lot of dirty things there. Last year there was rats in the cafeteria. I’ve also seen a lot of insects like spiders, flies, centipedes, and gnats. The school year is almost over then I will only have to put up with this stuff for one more year. Best of luck to anyone who gets sent here,

Teachers are excellent. The problem is the kids.

Honestly, the only good thing about this school are my teachers. There are lots of fights. Once, I had to take a detour to my class. People are cursing. That is just 1/3 of my opinion.

As a student, many students in my classes don't do their homework and are impossible to engage with in class. The problem with the school is that they don't enforce school policies hard enough. My case in point: I can see around 5 students daily using their phones in class.

My daughter has had a terrible school year in Burnet. She get back breaking loads of homework and the teachers just make them copy things down on the board. They don't even engage with the students. And don't even get me started abut the bully. The principal and vice principal don't even care. The school is very un sanitary and bad quality bathrooms. I yuck! This school we so call good it completely and utterly trash.

My child has just completed his first year at Burnet and he has had a great experience. The teachers are helpful and worked diligently with us to help him adjust to middle school. My son loves the school and the relationships he has formed there.

I am a current student and find this school quite safe with due to the fact that we have a police department around the area and have constant security guards on patrol. The teachers also encourage students to work hard and study more to increase their grades for all marking period. Also the school encourages good behaviour by being rewarded with lion's loot which you can earn prizes with.

As a student, i find that the students and teachers are alike in the school. The teachers are as normal as the students are. How you interpret that, well is up to you. Overlooking gossip the teachers get the job done well. They teach the lessons as required and always have the NJASK in mind. The cafeteria serves good food, focusing on protein in a positive way. The cause for the three stars is not just gossip (which most definately can be forgiven) the fights are a horrendous problem. Every week a fight breaks out, outside the lunchroom, in the lunchroom, on the blacktop, although well handled by the teachers, the amount of fights reduces my amout of hope for the generation. The school may not statistically show it, but the students are very academically potential, but they make overall dumb decisions by doing things like purposely failing tests to "fit in." I believe if all students lived to their full potential, this school could surpass all academic records in BMS history. Now to the fun stuff after-school activities. They run like a German Train Station. The performance arts, academic enhancement, and sports are phenomenal!

Burnet Middle School is an overall good school, and has its many benefits as well as its detriments. I find that this school helps a lot of youngsters like myself in areas of a subject that they need their most help in, which is great for students. The only problems I find are that this school's NJASK scores are very irksome and this school is not one of the most distinguished out of all other public schools located in New Jersey. The teachers are just ensuring for you to get a passing grade for the NJASK, which demonstrates that their main goal is for students to not get below proficient on this statewide test. Advanced students are just left off to fend on their own and try and make their marks distinguished among the average school's GPA's. Unless you're in Honors or G&T classes, it's pretty hard for a gifted student to bump up Burnet Middle School's overall rating as a 4 out of 10. I believe that teachers should help average, below average, and above average students all the same, instead of focusing just on one group of students. Other than that, the extra-curricular activities are actually stupendous, and give Burnet Middle School students a chance at being involved.

Last year i went to Burnet and i thought it was okay. The teachers were nice but got mad whenever the class was really misbehaving.Being a good student, i never got detention before, but at my year at Burnet i got detention only in my English class. Other than that the new superintendent was nice and definitely helped Burnet a lot.
