Attended Union R-XI from K-12. I went on to graduate from a top 100 university on the East Coast. The school district serves its purpose to conduct general basic education to small town and rural kids. I would not move to the area to attend Union schools. My parents worked in town, so our options were Union or Borgia is Washington (I am not Catholic). I was lucky to have parents that spent money to send me to camps and other enrichment activities. Otherwise, I would have fallen short on college prep. Now, I live in St. Louis County and I’m selective about where I reside. Currently, my primary residence is located in the Rockwood School District. I’m giving the district 3/5 because they serve a purpose and provide general education.

Graduate of Union High School. I went on to receive my Bachelors Degree with Honors with little to no help from what I had learned from UHS. I had to re-learn everything from the ground up because UHS did not properly prepare me for my future elsewhere. I now have strict guidelines on where my children will be attending in the future.. and it won’t be anywhere near Union, MO or Franklin County! My children deserve a real future when it comes to their education.

We moved into Union RXI school district when our 2 eldest girls were in 3rd grade and 1st grade - there were never really any issues that could not be resolved without parental involvement until 8th grade into high school. Our experience has been that the bullying is out of control at the high school level (girls bullying girls). Our oldest daughter went from honor role to D's and F's, as a result of bullying by a female student who overheard her boyfriend say that my daughter "...was hot...". Yes, seriously. This came directly from the bully's mother (who ironically was the only other adult in this scenario who made any attempt to reason with the bully). If I had it to do over again, we would have bought a house and settled into another school district. By the way, this happened almost 9 yrs ago, and the scars are still evident. My youngest graduated in 2009. I am not even going to rate this school regarding the education, as that is a mute point. Until the bullying is under control, the academic rating is irrelevant.
