If you get the opportunity I HIGHLY recommend this school! The teachers all follow reggio Amelia. The kids all have hands on learning. Are able to experience nature, they have a beehive, a garden, a nature park in their backyard. Please, if you get a chance to tour this school, you must!

Children are cared for and respected at Overfield. The curriculum encourages collaboration with peers and is consistent in developing a respect for Nature, Life and the Arts. Simply an amazing place.

The wonderful teachers, Reggio Emilia philosophy of early childhood education, and the amazing campus are what really makes Overfield stand out. Children are honored and valued here. They experiment and explore based on their interests and curiosities. In fact, the teachers develop the curriculum around the children's interests. The children go outside everyday (weather permitting). There is an organic garden, a bird blind, a wishing gate, nature preserve, and climbing trees, along with typical playground areas. Teachers send an email to parents each day - a "daily reflection" with pictures and quotes so you know what is happening at school. It is such a welcoming and fun environment. The children learn while exploring and enjoying themselves. My daughter loves going to preschool at Overfield!

When we were looking for a preschool, we visited a few other programs, incling a Montessori, before touring Overfield. Once we visited the welcoming classrooms & beautiful campus, we never looked back! We knew this was the place for us. Six years & two more children later, we still feel it was the perfect choice for us. The philosophy of the school allows children to explore various subjects in hands-on ways, based on their interests. They are able to express their ideas & thoughts freely while also respecting others opinions. Rather than being told every answer, they are encouraged to think through an idea or solution, each using their own creativity and imagination, & work together with one another & their teachers to find the answer. The things they learn are more concrete since they have learned the methods behind finding answers. Parents are also a significant part of the Reggio Emilia philosophy & are encouraged to be active participants in their child s learning experience. The teachers are always thoughtful, respectful & courteous. At Overfield, very real, valuable relationships are formed between children, teachers & parents.
