I am a current student at this school and I cant stress how bad this school is. you will never learn anything. My teacher recently got fired and i had a b+. forced another teacher on us and my grade is now a 45%(with all As by the way) all my efforts put into that class and in these years just to go to college is now gone. I now don't have any motivation to even show up, and talking to the counselors, principles, and assistant principles is a waste of time. they act like they care but just give us things that we wanna hear to get rid of us.

One star is for the few Teachers my children had who showed concern for what was being taught. Many teachers used movies and videos instead of teaching,, called out sick often and had student aides grade homework. Dress code was not enforced. My child has his lunch stolen from his backpack during class and the thief threw it in the garbage. I was not contacted by the school and the vice principal could not have cared less. Only concern seems to be with attendance so that can get their money from the government.

3 of my children have or are currently attending Tracy High. Two of them where/are in the International Baccalaureate program and the other one has learning challenges due to ADHD. Because of this we have been involved in such opposite sides of Tracy High’s learning programs. The teachers in the IB program are fun, passionate, supportive and intelligent. They realized that the program can be stressful for the students so they push self care and are understanding and flexible with the students. They want nothing but the best for them and stress the importance of a well rounded and balanced student not just straight A’s. One of my children has many limitations and challenges in school due to a ADHD diagnosis and this child’s counselor saw a issues and worked with me to set up meetings with herself, all teachers, the schools psychologist and the school secretary. We came up with a year long plan for my child involving extra support, reminders, extra time on homework and tests. The teachers that came to the meetings supported my child from that point on and I will be forever grateful. He went from possibly not passing his Freshman year to passing and then went on to get his first 4.0 the next year!!! He worked so hard but I think his teachers and his counselor all getting together to show him love and support is what he needed to raise his confidence and for him to not be afraid of trying. Mrs Carey was all three of my children’s counselor and she has made such a positive and amazing impact on their lives forever. She is such a caring, passionate, loving and supportive mentor for my children. We will never forget her. Such a special person and a blessing to the students in her care. I highly recommend Tracy High School.

My daughter is a freshman at Tracy High and even though I fought hard to have her there, because I was led to believe it was the best of the 3 public HS options in the city, I have been disappointed with her feedback over the school year. Everything from one teacher sittin in the back of the class eating all the time and "I'm learning nothing" to "extra credit is earned by donating school supplies" to the basketball coach using the F word during practices on a regular basis. I realize that in teachers unions, it's nearly impossible to be fired, but I think someone needs to take a good look at what is actually going on in the classrooms and talk to the kids. There's a fear of even talking about it for fear of repercussions. That should say enough. I will be looking for another option for her remaining high school days, possibly home schooling as my faith is the public school system, and what it actually provides, is rapidly fading.
