Nothing but good things to say about this school so far

My student has been attending PCS for 2 years now and I love it. What an amazing and effective way to education. I love the fact that the school can take what the state tells them to learn and go about it in an engaging way. My students comes home everyday loving his teachers and we enjoy the constant communication - bad and good. Why are there not more school like this?!?

This school seems to be struggling lately between providing a quality education and politics. Over the last two years, we have really been discouraged by the lack of kindness and professionalism by the registrar, and office staff. In addition, the quality of education is lacking because it appears that most of the incoming students (mostly from Tracy Unified School District, do not speak English. And this DOES take its toll on other English speaking children. It does hold them back. I must note, check out the API scores from 2009 - 2010... down 16 points for Primary Charter. That's a lot which obviously shows that something "wrong" is happening with this school. Discovery STAR testing is also upsetting.... worse than Jefferson school District. What is happening with these schools? I pulled my children out of Hawkins and put them in Primary and Discovery. Well, this year, I am taking them out. I can't express enough how disappointed I am in these schools. And for all of you who will argue, just look at the scores. Facts don't lie.

I cannot imagine my 4 children going to another school. After moving from San Jose, I thought I would never again find a school that truly cares about each child and the education they are getting. After 3 failed other Tracy schools, we fould TLC and would not have it any other way. it is a k-12 school and puts children first. It works on each childs ability and not a class ability. One of my chilfren is on the 4th grade but doing 7th grade work.. amazing.... love this school

This school seems great until you look more closer! It has gone downhill the past couple years. Excellent teachers are being let go for no good reason. I have seen the best teachers being fired while teachers who, quite frankly, can not teach basic math are still there! Test scores dropped last year and I guarantee they will drop again.

I am proud for my child to be student of this school. When he first transferred he struggled the first couple of months to adjust to a new school. The teachers went above and beyond help my child succeed. They offered before and after school tutoring at no cost. The provide me with weekly updates as to his progress. Provided us with fun learning websites and math packages we can do together with our child to encourage his progress. I feel blessed to have been given this opportunity for our child to attend this great school.
