So I am in eighth grade and I can say this school was my worst school so far. So for 1, the bathrooms are unsanitary, there are kids that skip classes there all the time and there are some teachers that doesn't allow students to go. For 2, the school does not care about what you want, if one person gets in trouble, everyone that sees also does. The school also has started putting people in the detention center for watching fights, for just seeing them. Just a terrible school overall, 1/10.

My daughter has gone to TMS for 2 years so far. Safe to say i’m so glad to get her out of this school. She’s had some issues with other students and the counselor’s & administration did nothing to help. A specific teacher has been harassing my daughter for many months now. She’s followed my around in stores and has screamed in my daughters face during school all because she walked down the wrong hallway. Definitely filing a complaint on that woman. Don’t even get me started on the YONDR pouches. stupidest idea ever. instead of spending $80k on school books or fixing the broken ceilings. The idea of not allowing communication from students to parents is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Students shouldn’t be on their phones during class but in the case of an emergency all students should have access to a cell phone to contact parents or even 911. School is terrible. So is southwest. Please do research before sending your children here!!!!

TMS have better facilities than nearby private school. Their enriched academic classes are quite challenging but very interesting. Band is superb. My suggestion to the school is to improve more in strong character development of it's student.

TMS is an impressive school community despite being large. Since coming here to teach, I have noticed progress in leadership and school values over the years. Departments, such as music and drama are standouts in the state. Most importantly, the students are a good bunch.

Tms is a great school. It gets bad reviews, but those are always from people who haven't gone there . I am a 7th grader at the school and have really enjoyed my experience so far. Not only do the teachers help me as well as other students display a better understanding of middle school concepts, such as early alegbra, they make the learning interesting as well. At Tms, you learn how to apply your learning to every day experiences and have fun in the process. Most students at Torrington Middle School are kind and welcoming also. My advise to any new student at the school, whether you are an incoming sixth grader or you are moving to the city from somewhere else, is to keep your head held high and be confident. Torrington Middle School is great, but you just have to let it show you that it is. Good Luck! I hope to see you at Torrington Middle School!!!!!!

Great teachers who do an amazing job educating students with a wide range of abilities.
