We have been so pleased with our experience at BMHS. So many diverse opportunities for the kids to branch out, including top notch Drama Lab and clubs. The teachers are robust in their teaching methods and offer multiple ways to learn... not just regurgitating facts, but rather stretching our kids to use their critical thinking. We have been so blessed to have our daughter grow and thrive at BMHS.

This School Bishop Montgomery in Torrance is a great school for my son , The smaller classes sizes and the teacher allow my son to learn and grow . They are attentive to his needs and he feels safe in this school .The Catholic Curriculum also provides a good foundation for him . I rate Bishop Montgomery a five star

Overall an excellent experience. We have 2 students at Bishop, a senior and a freshman, and they both love attending the school. The smaller class sizes allow the students to more easily connect with their teachers to ask questions. Bishop provides a positive faith based environment that challenges the students academically and overall develops well rounded individuals.

Bishop Montgomery is an amazing school! I have two girls attending Bishop, one freshman and one Senior. My senior has had four amazing years and my freshman could not be happier! There are 100 reasons why we love this school but the academics and sports at Bishop are top notch!

I went here for 9th grade only and it was the most miserable year of my life. BMHS is full of spoiled rotten rich kids who go to mass at school then party, drink and drug on the weekends. Ok, maybe not all of them, but a large quantity of them. If you don't drive a BMW or have a house in Manhattan Beach then woe is you. The teachers do not intervene when kids are bullied and play favorites. I would never send my child here.

A very safe and close knit family school. My daughter feels safe and has made really good friends forever, needless to mention the great education she has received!

I was so glad I switch to a public school beginning of my junior year. You have to take a placement test and if you do bad, you will get stuck in regular classes and it would be impossible to take honors and ap classes. To get into a prestigious university, you have to show you have taken honors or ap classes. After doing average, I was put into average classes. Even after being top of my classes, they still would not let me transfer to the honor class. Also this school lacks classes. The school focuses on discipline which is a good value but they should focus on all that attention in getting better classes. There were some teachers that favored students that were outgoing or their parents are well known to that community. I was bullied by one of these so called favorite student. She flicked little papers into my hair and paperclips and who know what else. There were some teachers that were great but others ugh. I am so happy I left the school. If I haven't transfer out, I would have not gotten into Brown or been even consider to be accepted to my dream schools. If you want your child to go to amazing universities, I suggest forgetting this school.

The good thing about sending your kid to a private school is that you get to choose the school and if you are not happy you can move. I am the parent of a 10th grader and I couldn't be any happier. I see how much my son has grown and I am pleased. The teachers are hands on and communicate through email as soon as possible. Always a plus.

The only thing this school has going for it is some of its better teachers. The funds are terribly mismanaged-- it mostly seems to go to uneccesary security and the lackluster athletics department. Discipline often goes overboard and condescends to students as children, rather than young adults. Any extracurriculars other than drama are a huge dissapointment. Thier science program is mediocre, and some of the mandatory classes--Health and Theology, I'm looking at you--are geared towards the lowest common denominator, making them easy to the point of uselesness. Probably the worst offense, however, is their college advising. When I was there 3 years ago, they had THREE advisors for the entire 400+ Senior class. They were overworked, and our 'advising' consisted of taking several surveys before having a quick meeting with our advisor where he/she plugged in our results to a college list, the computer spat out some school names, we were handed a few pamphlets and then sent away. That isn't good advising. Don't be fooled by the college enrollment stats--many students just end up languishing in community college. People who think this school is doing a stellar job are settling for less.

This high school is great on discipline, consistent in their rules, and the teaching staff and administration does all they can to promote the student. Their athletic program does what they can do to help their athletes achieve their dreams. I have one daughter that has graduated, and another who still attends. I have been VERY pleased with the education and college preparation. I wouldn't have wanted my children to have attended anywhere else. As a single parent, I am comforted in knowing that they, too, look out for the best interest of my children not just academically, but emotionally, and for their futures. Thank you, Bishop.

All 3 of my kids have attended Bishop Montgomery High School with great success. The school well prepares its students for college and life. The principal & staff are like family and committed to each and every student's needs. My first 2 kids who graduated from there attend top notch colleges and my one still there is loving his high school experience! The kids & families are caring & enthusiastic and the student body is culturally diverse which is better than our public school alternative which is 95% white. My kids love the friendships they have made with kids of all backgrounds! BMHS's size is perfect too, 1110 students-big enough to offer a lot but small enough to allow kids opportunities to make it onto sports teams and to shine in many ways. It offers a wide range of classes and activities that respects each person's individuality including 5 foreign languages and most AP's. And freshman can take honors. My kids have gotten every class they requested! The school creates class sections as needed. BMHS has zero tolerance for illegal activity and expels kids for it. It is co-ed and has uniforms with several options. Lovely, safe location, 29 acre campus, a great place to be!
