Teachers treated my child awful. The time outs were cruel and unusual. I walked in on my child in a “time-out.”

I thought long and hard before writing this review but feel it's necessary. My child was sick every week attending this school, much more than you would expect and it's because they are not rigorous about sanitation and requiring hand washing for all kids. In the beginning, I asked if they ever take pictures or do formal updates and the response was: "we're not that type of school but you can call during the day to ask" - this is like the minimum expectation. Fine, I was OK with that, but as the weeks went on, I kept getting the feeling that the teachers always seemed to be time punchers vs. really caring about the kids. I would ask for updates on my kid at pick up and the update from teacher was never anything more than "Um... I think they did ok. I'm not sure if they ate lunch/napped because I was on break"... Also, I will leave out the details of how many times at pick up, I notice potty (#2) in underwear because nobody bothered to check if my kid needed to use the bathroom/they ignored the request to go potty/ or there truly was an accident and the teacher pretended not to notice. It’s always “oh I JUST took them to the potty, oh that must’ve JUST happened” (even though it was clear it had been a while). It infuriates me because I know my kid is very verbal and never had accidents at home. Fast forward - My kid is at a new school and it's 1000x better -if this is your first experience with a first child at their first preschool and you have any doubts, do not question yourself like I did, and wait for things to get better. Just go find another school. I get so mad at myself for sending my kid there as long as I did. Also that gate system is not secure and needs to be fixed – multiple occasions parents leave it open and kids can easily run out.

My child attended this school in Redondo Beach for several years and never could articulate to me how awful it was. My child was bullied and treated horribly. While getting very good grades, the teachers never told me of a problem--a teacher finally after several years strongly suggested my child might fit in better at a public school. It took several years for my child to recover from what was pretty much constant verbal abuse by fellow students. I am not happy to have paid for that experience.
