This school is in an affluent area, and many claim it's great. However, we have moved our daughter out of this school after two terrible years for the following reasons:-Unprofessional teachers play favorites with students.-The teachers are protected and can do no wrong.-Minority kids get picked on by teachers.-POC parents are treated badly by teachers and faculty.-The school caters to parents who fundraise the most money.-Teachers try to get parents in trouble with authorities with falsehoods.-Principal is the worst reflecting ineffective leadership.-Teachers aren't disciplined when parents file complaints.

Problematic teachers are kept well protected as good teachers. The school district is very protective. You bring any issues to their attention; the kid and the parents are blamed and are banned from school communications. They reward bad behavior from teachers. You as a parent are valued by the teachers so long as you knot and accept their assessment. Just as soon as you show implicit or explicit disagreement with the teacher, the teachers will in return retaliate against the very vulnerable (the poor kid).

My children attended for 5th and K while I lived in the area for one year. The experience was AMAZING! My children transferred in 3months before summer break from homeschool so my biggest worry was that they would be placed by age vs competency (they were both 2yrs ahead per placement testing). I was so pleased to find out the kindergarteners could already read! The environment was great too---no problem dropping in to check on my children. HIGHLY recommend if you live in the area.

For public, this little school does a great job. Admin and teachers are helpful and nice and more important available if needed. Low key school that my kid liked.

I Can't say enough great things about Tulita. My son graduated from Tulita 2 years ago and my daughter is in her last year. I am so sad to leave such a great environment of teachers, parents and students.

I 100% agree with the posting that said "I have two kids here, and while their education is adequate..." I do have two children that have gone through Tulita and have not been satisfied with the school. We are not alone. The problem has been seen with the last 3 principals. The PTA runs the school. They schedule meetings in the morning so that leaves working parents out. PTA parents get the teachers they want for their kids and their kids get most of the awards and pictures on the website etc, If you are financially unable to contribute to the school fundraisers you get repeated phone calls and notes home. The WORST is the tolerance for bullying. This has been a problem with the last 3 principals. Parents have needed repeated meetings with administration and have come away frustrated. Some have even retained lawyers. People spend a lot of money to buy houses in this area because they feel their children will receive a better than average education. That all depends on the teacher they get. Some teachers are more dedicated than others.

I have two kids here, and while their education is adequate (not great, as neither kid fits the model for poultice-school ideal), I have just about had it with the favoritism for the PTA clique children and the encouragement of 1950s gender roles, both for parents and kids. Teachers are overwhelmed and cowed by the professional volunteer mommies, who often are the ones running the show. I know they "only want the best for their children", but it shouldn't be at the expense of those whose parents didn't contribute to the fund-raiser (The technique of providing a game truck for the volunteers/fund-raiser's kids while mine are made to clean the classroom is particularly appalling).

My kids are at Tulita and we are very happy! Small school, make sure to participate and address your issues and/or concerns. Once you bring it up it gets addressed! We are very happy!

Starting our 4th year here. Very happy and glad to be in this school district. This is why we live in the associated neighborhood.

We've had two children at this school for three years. The pricipal makes the effort to know children and parents by name, is always friendly and approachable with a smile. The teachers have all been friendly, caring, and striving for excellence with each of my kids. They start with morning exercises and move into class time. Homework is review of class work, but not overwhelming. Wed is homework free. The parents are extremely involved. The PTA sends the kids on field trips and each class has a smart board from their efforts. Art, science, and music training are all there. After school activites are many. The school is secure and safe. The anti-bullying policy is trained often to all ages and effectively maintained. Kids are taught anger mgmt too. I can't say enough great things about this school. It has a community feeling and is a perfect size, everyone knows each other. Because of this community feeling, parents are more involved, contribute more, and participate in volunteer activities more. A fun school that my children have excelled academically and socially with. We are sad to move. I have never had such a great school experience.

Our son is in his second year at Tulita and we are extremely happy with the attention and care provided by the staff. It's a wonderful small community, the environment is very friendly and parent involvement and participation is exceptional. The principle is very proactive and the PTA is well organized.

Very happy with Tulita. Love the fact they had "The Young Writers Conference" this week. Shows how they strive to broaden the student's mind. The faculty and parents make this school special, especially those who consistently contribute their time and money. Since I'm a working mom who cannot be there as much as I would like, I thank those parents who are. You make Tulita a better school for all our kids.
