I couldn’t be more pleased with my son’s experience in pre-k. Mr. Basche and all faculty have made this a smooth transition going to “big kid school”.

THJ is a judge free zone for all children, all the staff members treat and care for the kids as their own. My child has grown tremendously and loves to attend school & learn new things!

Great school. My kids started at pre-k and completed kindergarten and 1st grade. They’ve learned so much in such a short time!The teachers are super great, care so much and tech the little duck a lot. The Principal Mr. Basche really takes care of his little ducks and makes sure they are safe and improve their learning, he was always there for any concern or questions. The new school district superintendent Dr. Padavil is also available for parents. All together I’d say that is how the learning experience should be!

Th Johnson is an amazing school. They really care so much for their students. All four of my children went to this school, they had the best teachers.

About to finish up our family's 5th of 6 years at THJ and there are so many things that I could write about our wonderful experiences but the one common thread is the warmth and love shown by the staff to the students. Being comfortable and loved is the first step to learning. All of my children have left THJ knowing well beyond the state standards for Kinder and 1st grade. My Pre-k student has already mastered the goals for Kinder. The staff is exceptional and the campus is tailored perfect for our littlest students.

My daughter Ivee has had an amazing experience from pre-K to now kindergarten, including her father and I! Her teacher Ms. Capilla is amazing and works great with her, along when Mrs. Brown was her teacher! Mr. Basche the principal always greets the students by first name as well as the parents, every time I’ve had a concern with my daughter, the response time is incredible, he always informs us and keeps us in the loop! Ivees speech teacher, Ms. Mari works incredible with her and has helped her reach her goals and Ms. Strong has helped Ivee along the way! I love seeing the connections they make with the students and truly care! I could name many more teachers who have made an amazing impact in my daughters life transitioning to kindergarten and her new class! I’m so grateful! I honestly couldn’t say anything bad about her school, teachers and administrators! We couldn’t be happier!

Wonderful staff. Amazing principal!My child has learned so much. So thankful for THJ! This was my son’s first time being away from me, and they all made the transition so easy for him and me!

I've had three kids attend this school so far. Pre-k3 (half day), pre-k, and kindergarten. They started when Ms. Cork was still principal and now Mr. Basche is principal. Our whole experience with this school has been amazing. Starting in pre-k 3 our kids shocked us with just how much they were learning and retaining, and that has continued into pre-k and kindergarten. The teachers make it fun for them to learn and remember what they're learning. They use many different methods of learning (tablets, crafting, snacks, reading, etc.) and the kids are always excited to see what activities they'll be doing that day. So far this school year they've been on one field trip, done a bubble run, had a storybook parade, a holiday Shoppe, had themed breakfasts and lunches, dress up themes for different events and holidays such as spirit week or Christmas time, and a class Christmas party, and it's not even Christmas break yet! I have 3 kids in three different classes and each of them love their teachers so much that they've cried at the thought of not being able to see them over Christmas break. The teachers have a wonderful way of engaging them and keeping them excited about what is to come the next days. Ms. Cork was an awesome principal but we never had too much interaction with her, as we didn't have the need for it. This year though one of our children had a bit of a rough start to the school year and Mr. Basche together with Mrs. Strong (assistant principal) and teachers worked with my child through it and found a solution. Since then my child hasn't had any problems, I credit this to the wonderful way it was handled by staff. Mr. Basche is also outside every morning to greet the kids coming in and is outside every afternoon at dismissal to see the kids off. It's clear that Mr. Basche and the rest of the staff at this school truly care about the well being of our kids and will do everything in their power to ensure it. I can only hope that this sentiment will carry on to their next school as my oldest two continue to 1st grade next year. We truly do appreciate and cherish these wonderful years that our kids have at this school. I don't think we'd have such a great, positive experience anywhere else. We are very grateful for Mr. Basche, Mrs. Strong, the whole office staff, the school nurse, the coaches, the assistant teachers, the librarian, the counselor, the music teacher, and all of the wonderful wonderful teachers at this school!!!

I love everything about TH Johnson Elementary school. The teachers are very patient, good at communicating, and loving. You can really tell the teachers love teaching and love the littles. The administrators are very nice, helpful, and quick to help you with whatever you're needing. My kids love going to school every day. The school nurse is very sweet and helpful. I highly recommend going to this school from the classroom atmosphere to a great quality education.

Formerly north side, currently T.H. Johnson. It may run differently in a few years but I got fed up fast with being the "guinea pig". The website was incorrect and half the links were broken, if you were sent home with information with websites to get more info those were also not available online. It was very chaotic and not organized. There were planned field trips that we paid for that were never taken, $20 shirts (which came in the wrong size) and never worn because the field trips were cancelled, and I didn't entirely agree with the teachers methods for discipline. My child was bullied and picked on in a hateful, aggressive, and racist way as well and was never addressed. The school has too many students, teachers have too many children, it's economically disadvantaged and the children aren't well behaved. We left with a bitter taste in our mouth and my child hating and dreading to go to school which is far too young at this age! The principle is nice and teachers seem to be nice (office staff have favorites and aren't particularly nice with students), but it just didn't work. I noticed the reviews did not get better for the district so we pulled out at the end of the year. We're now in private school that is diverse, no issues of bullying, small class size (~200 students for pk-4) and magically my child comes home happy with no issues. The real problem, is that while my child was testing FAR above the average benchmarks at TH Johnson she's now behind for first grade. We're having to do double time to catch her up, and I don't blame the teachers. But these things just happen when you're in schools that are disadvantaged.
