My name is Travis Motal and I am the principal of Taylor Middle School. Our vision is that all students will be successful. Our staff works hard to reach this vision daily. We have a great group of students that have so many wonderful attributes and we are very proud of all of their accomplishments now and the ones we know they will reach in the future. If you have any questions, comments or concerns...please contact me: tmotal@taylorisd.org. Thank you for supporting the students and community of Taylor.

I am a substitute teacher of 4 years. My first experience at this school was awful. The students were very disrespectful. So much that they overshadowed the good students. It's sad and unnecessary for that kind of behavior to someone who is a guest in their school not to mention how it makes them look as people in society. They need a firm, loving hand.

TMS is moving up! Great leadership and focused faculty mean great things for the students.

We moved here three years ago and are very happy with the quality of all the schools in Taylor. My daughter had Travis Motal at MSI and now he's moved to TMS and she has him again. He's doing a great job of getting things organized and running more smoothly. He is a great choice for principal. The atmosphere at all the schools is lighthearted and fun and you can see that reflected in the kids. Great school system!

I love being at Taylor Middle School. The students are so fun to work with and have great personalities. I have worked in Taylor for 10 years and I truly love my job. I have had great support from my administrators, other teachers, parents, and the community. Taylor is a great place to be.

Having left Austin behind happily, I enrolled my children in Taylor schools. We have kiddos at Pasemann, Main Street, and Middle. In all instances, the teachers and administration have been superb. Two of my children have chronic illness and needs medicine throughout the day, and the staff has been very accomodating and on top of it. The old school standard of discipline and rewards is a welcome change from feel good, everyone is a star, everyone can do no wrong "standards" of Austin public and Austin charter schools. Thrilled to be here.

The district has gone through a lot of changes for the better in the past few years. Overall, the schools have improved hugely! Taylor Middle School is doing well with having good teachers and keeping the students' classes interesting. This will be my child's last year and then he's heading to high school. I think the transition will be smooth. Taylor is a good small town to live in and still be close to Austin. We have a good community here and the kids enjoy the fests and celebrations held downtown. It's a good place overall to raise a family.

Really impressed with the teachers. My daughter comes home each day and tells me everything that happened. She is excited about learning now!

This school has had some problems with communication, but since Mr. Motal became principal, communication and overall atmosphere has improved.

Taylor Middle School is a great school! The principal, Travis Motal, is a wonderful leader and the administration, counselors, and teachers truly care about each student there. Students are challenged daily and rewarded for their effort! This is a fun school and you can feel the positive energy when you are there!

The schoool is a joke along with the principal and administration. Never in my life have i had to deal with such rude and unhelpful people in my life. This is why i am deciding after 13 years and me going to this school district along with my parent... to take my children out of the district. I will not have the administration try to bulley me or my children to make things go away.

There is no challenge in the the classroom. I guessing they want "everyone" to be sure and pass so the expectations are low. My son should be in the AP class's but there wasn't enough room. Instead he is in the other classes and has not has homework(that he has not been able to complete at the school) since day 1. It is too easy. He is not challenged. He is going to struggle on his ACTS. I love the principal and I think the teachers have really good hearts. Their kindness and care aren't going to increase my son's knowledge.

This school is a joke. I have never had so many problems with any other school even when i lived in dallas. My daughter and my son were constantly bullied last yr in high school and everytime i would tell the school whats going on they would act concerned and then go about there business. My son was also video taped getting beatin up in the locker room yet he somehow got in trouble with the person that broke his ribs cause they say he stood up of the bench. yes thats it just stood up never threw a punch. To make a long story short i am now in trouble with the court for truancy. And trust me the judge doesnt care what the reason is she says there all excuses. One way or another Taylor school district will get there money trust me! I have been at this school for 4 yrs now i have so much more i would love to say but only so many characters. The bottom line is we are looking into moving or doing what needs to be done to get our kids out of this horrible school.
