I saw a review that said you only get special attention if you have money. This couldn’t be further from the truth! My child is in her sixth year at this school, and I have been a contact volunteer for all years. I have never seen or experienced being anything of the sort. Most teachers are amazing as is the staff. The new principal is wonderful and very attentive, she answers questions right away in an email for will call you directly if you have multiple questions in an email she receives. I think they need to replace the assistant principal they hired this year as she has no clue how to work with children. She goes against what should be done and is a bad representation for the school. There are also a few teachers who are bullies to students, and they need to be replaced. But, most teachers are wonderful and treat kids very well and loving. My child exceeds at this school. The one thing I think they need to work on is controlling the bullying that occurs, but I think that’s normal for every school.

Would not recommend this school for any minority that lives outside of the ox bottom neighborhood, especially if you have a special needs child.

I love the parent participation & the leadership of Ms. Friend. My 3 kids have thrived with the teachers & I am greatful.

Our family is concerned about the administration and leadership of this school. We saw several families treated poorly and had this happen to us some as well. Many of the families with means leave for private school because they are put off by the negativity and dismissive attitudes. In addition, the social climate does not support the healthy development of social skills. The lack of empathy and bullying happens at the very top, and it naturally trickles down to the students. The test scores, in our opinion, are due in part to demographics and how the school manages the process. They do seem to focus intently on achieving good scores.

Both of my sons attend school there. We moved the area because of this school. School teacher and staff are great. The school is very organized compared to other schools our kids attended. They care about what students learn and their grades. Facility is good and overall is a great school.

Hawks Rise is the best school in the universe!! I love all the staff and everyone there including the teachers!! They all work so hard!

we love this school. Our child had a hard time adjusting to 1st grade. Her teacher was patient and very caring. recongnizing her weak as well as strong areas. Encouraging her in a way that really motivated her and made her want to try even harder. We had doubts about moving on to 2nd grade, but with her teachers support and caring, gentle pushes in the right direction she is now ready and we look forward to next year.

You should be aware that my 5th grade student's CLASSROOM SIZE is 23 KIDS, not 15. My 3rd grade student's CLASSROOM SIZE is the same. This is not unusual for this school. We have been at this school for 3 years now and between 2 kids have had 6 classrooms between them and ALL have been over 20 kids in each class!!!
