My son attends this school and I couldn't be any more happier with the principal and staff. She is attentive and proactive when it comes to the students, I see the students go up to her and hug her all of the time. My son's very first day here in 3rd grade he experienced a bully situation, that day I contacted the principal and teacher for their awareness and they immediately responded and helped. I haven't had that type of issue since. For the past 3 years each of his teachers have gone above and beyond and are always willing to help. I feel like my son feels safe with the security at the school. It is in a quiet and safe neighborhood with minimal traffic. There is a lot of open communication between the staff and parents/guardians. Although there is always room for more and better communication, there will never be enough of this since it is key to our children's success. My only concern is with some of the before and after care staff since they are generally college students, needing extra training in regards of talking with the students; some of them try to be too friendly with kids and are a little immature when it comes time in managing behavioral accommodations.

We absolutely love COE. My daughter used to attend another school in the area (which ironically had a much higher rating on this website) and we had year after year of bad experiences. I was nervous to have her switch but I'm so thankful that I did. I couldn't have handpicked a better school and environment for my child.

This school still has the same transgenderism type of teachers so you need to beware of this. Yes, thanks to Governor De Santis the new law will stop the Liberal left wing teachers at this school. If not the parents can sue the teacher and school. But this is a very high area of left-wing teachers. Best to move your kids to another city.

They are DISGUSTING SICKOS. Protect your innocent babies from these evil people.

Based on the issue raised where the math teacher chose to make transgenderism an issue that the 5th grade students had to comply with, it is obvious that the leadership is non-existent. A gender neutral title that would not be indoctrinating students would be "teacher", but that would not have the desired effect.

Why does a school allow a Teacher to force/teach gender neutral ideology to elementary aged children! No him no her.....no he no she! Are you kidding me!? I'm glad I'm not living near this crazy administration

Canopy Oaks Elementary School is a great school. I am really impress with the school and the staffs. My daughter came from a private school to a public she did really well and the teachers made the transition as smooth as it can be. My daughter really likes the school and she has one more year to go. I really don't know yet where I'm going to send her to middle school, I do not like the surrounding schools in the area. I guess I will have to place her in private school again.

My daughter was in Mrs. Skippers Kinder/first grade classroom this year. We had an incredible first year of school. Teachers are wonderful and caring. Parent involvement at the school carnival/field day was high. We are so glad our daughter started out her academic career in such a wonderful learning environment. We could not have asked for a better year!!

I've been here for almost two weeks now from VA...My son loves his new school and looks forward to each new day. Great people in the office and great teachers. I love the atmosphere and the tenderness payed to the children.
