Good school for the most part, some of the staff is rude. Lately I’ve been having issues with the tag pick up staff. They look at you as if you don’t belong and rushly wave their hands at you to go even if the car infront of you is going slow. They try to target people who they feel they can get away with. Every day since February has been a nightmare picking and dropping my son off from school because they know my car by now and are very rude to me everyday although I drive slow and watch for kids I am still a target. Other than that my son has obtained honor roll since kindergarten and has had some really great teachers.

If your child goes to this school I urge you to dive deeper into the school processes. Ask them about what happens when a student is in crisis, or something dangerous happens. They have one staff member who is responsible for all discipline concerns. Staff members are not treated with respect and have so many useless tasks piled on them, they aren’t effectively able to teach your children. The dean and teachers are doing their best, however administration and central office are failing the students. The current 2/10 rating is more than appropriate.

not a good school. My baby had a head injury and no one reach out and they sent him home on the bus.

We have been blessed to have had many of the teachers we had. They areVery skillful and effective in their teaching capabilities. We will miss Hillpoint when all of our children move to middle school

We were very happy over our years as a Hillpoint ES family and our children were more than prepared for Middle School.

Test scores don’t ever tell the full story, imo. Not everyone tests well, regardless of what they learn. I judge the school by what my child is actually learning & the environment and love of learning being fostered by the school. Hillpoint ticks all the boxes. Every person working at Hillpoint that I’ve met truly loves the students and encourages the kids to be the best they can be. I have one child with a serious medical condition and another child with severe anxiety. The faculty and staff have been supportive in keeping my children safe & excited to return to school each day. Additionally, they offer many activities for the students & families throughout the year, both educational & social. We’ve been involved with Hillpoint since 2015 and I am very pleased with the education my kids are receiving.

I am sad to say our family has not had a very good experience at Hillpoint Elementary. I have two children that attend there. We are going into our second year with this school. One of my children is special needs. She is on the Autism Spectrum. We have had countless meetings regarding our daughters educational needs and have come to realize The Principal and all teachers that we have dealt with thus far with the exception of one do the bare minimum when teaching our child. We feel like she is getting left behind. In addition My daughter has encountered severe bulling. In the 2015 school year she was chocked by another student in the bathroom. This school year (2016) she was hit in the head at the playground causing a concussion and laceration to the back of her head. Mind you the very same day there were two other major injuries. Granted accidents happen and kids do occasionally get hurt but I feel like there is a pattern here. Maybe teachers should monitor the children a little better. I live right behind the school and on occasion when I'm taking my walks most of the time you will see the teachers hanging out by the door of the school that leads out to the play ground chatting instead of walking around monitoring the kids on the playground.

If your child is special needs don't expect a lot from this school. My daughter has autism and my husband and I have encountered countless issues. Solely due to lack of knowledge and training pertaining to my daughters special needs.

I read the other reviews. You know how there is always one that...that would be me. AND I felt I needed to speak up for the few of us seen in the front entry that were not smiling. The building is new and lovely, the teachers are capable. BUT if you are a parent that has a difficulty or that has a 'less than great' child, especially Special Ed., and you say, Hey, not my child or stop what you are doing, then the story rapidly turns ugly. They have moved the front 'greeting station' CLOSE to the door--not a horrible thing but it best symbolizes the thought that they have the child and you are not welcome. I trusted them to get it right and as a result, a very bad thing happened. My child will be left behind and the best statement-as a parent, you have to assume responsibility for your child's learning. There are no five stars due here but I allow that the building and the front barrier look great. I also know that not everyone will fit like the perfect pea. I am though angry and embarrassed that I did not push my way in and often. Please do so before you choose.

We all love Hillpoint Elementary the school has everything in place and very organized. They keep Childrens and Education at the front of the line and really keep the children motivated in different ways of learning material and resources as well. I have been impressed with the results of both my boys that have been students here at the new school. I have nothing but high hopes that Hillpoint willbe consider a Great school as it already has proven to be for us in our opinion. Keep doing a great job Hillpoint.

My son attended HES from Kindergarten to 1st grade. Wonderful, well-organized school with great leadership and devoted teachers. I felt as if the teachers provided my son with ample amount of individual attention, as well as a great overall classroom environment. Very please with this school!

Before you post ill-mannered comments, please be responsible enough to tell the complete story. The secretary was speaking with the parent on how refreshing she looked after retiring from the military. She said that you don't look "strung out" as meaning stressed since the parent with small children has retired from a very demanding military position. The secretary has had a wonderful relationship with this parent for 6 years. It is very disheartening to post negative comments about a person that keeps the entire school running smoothly. You should be ashamed.

One of the secretary's said to a lady "she didn't look strung-out anymore" what? I don't understand how someone can be so unprofessional & work for the public school system.

This school is a so wonderful. The teachers, principal, and all staff that worked with my child (Kindergarten) were so involved and available to me at all times. My son went to a special needs school prior to this one, and then was mainstreamed here. I could not asked for a better school for him to be placed. Not to mention it is new and clean!
