This school has more in common with a correctional facility.

Much improved these last few years. Engaged teachers and admin staff. Student learning is up and discipline issues are way down. Comparing the demographics to other schools, this one is really outperforming the other high schools in Suffolk.

I believe a lot of the issues stem from the top. The school needs a new Principal. If you have an issue in regards to how things are handled with your child don't bother notifying the principal because she will ignore all correspondence.

Kings Fork Middle School has been a wonderful experience for my 8th grade daughter. She is a high achiever who has been blessed with teachers who love teaching and are passionate about what they are teaching. The student population can be rough but if students are raised to make good decisions they can avoid the drama.

KFMS is awful I've been there for two years and I've only had four decent teachers. The food is horrible, the school is not safe at all. Most of the teachers don't care about the students they just care about getting a paycheck. There are always fights happening and always people getting bullied. I really don't get bullied but I've seen people get bullied. A lot of times teachers blame students on doing things just because of past experiences. The teachers lie about the students to administrators and parents. The teachers are more worried about suspending and disciplining students instead of teaching. A lot of teachers give pre-test that are a a big part of a students grade which the things in the test haven't been taught yet, or they give test and a bunch of work to students and expect them to learn it without students being taught either verbally or by seeing something and it being explained. The teachers and administrators worry more about dress code than teaching and educating students. The school is horrible and I would not recommend this school to anyone I wish I could leave but I think I'm just gonna have to deal with it until high school.

My son went to KFMS for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. He just finished his first year of high school and KFMS is the reason he is on the advanced diploma. The teachers and administration did everything they could to help him succeed. I am completely impressed with the dedication and caring that came from King's Fork. Mr. Darden is missed, but Mrs. Presson is running a tight ship and the great work continues. Thank you KFMS.

I'm an 8th grader, and I would have to say that I absolutely cannot stand this school. To start, most of the teachers are always dealing with the bad kids. They act like they don't care about their students grades or at least try to help them improve. Most of the kids have a lot of drama in their lives. Fights are always breaking out and most of them are absolutely pointless. Ever since the new principal (Jennifer Presson) came, the school basically fell apart. It is definitely not fair to those students who want to learn. It's just awful. There is no part of the school that is good. Even my parents think that the school is bad.

Kings Fork Middle School is the by far NOT a good school. There are a few good teachers there. But overall, they are not the best. I feel most of them are there for the summer off. Grades are always entered late. Assignments are often confusing to the student. The supervision, if you could call it that is non-existent. If I could avoid it, I would get my kids out of this school. And not much to look forward to at the High School either.

King's Fork is a sorry excuse for a school. My kids and I relocated from Yorktown and I immediately got involved with the 7th grade guidance councilor to make my sons transition easy. That back fired. She treated me as if I were a child. My son was being bullied because other kids didn't approve with how he dressed or looked. The GC stated that his hair makes him look like a girl. Very unprofessional. The kids at that school have no morals, class, respect, and are racists. They are from low income families and it shows. Most of the teachers he had were very rude. I even tried taking to the principle and she tried to justify it by saying "he's new." For the love of your children, do not enroll them at King's Fork. I pulled my son out and made other arrangements for him.
