If you have a have with adhd or HFA or learning difficulties oak hills is just incredible. We transferred here after my son was labeled “bad kid” because he is adhd and gifted and other teachers didn’t want to deal with him. Oak hills sees him as a bright kid who just needs assistance staying focused and they do whatever they need to to HELP him. Love this place. The principle is amazing leader who knows every single students name and so involved in everyone.

The leadership at this school is truly amazing. This is the first full year for our new principal and assistant principal. They are both incredible. I am impressed by the way they run this school. The previous principal literally had no backbone. The teachers ruled the school, the influential parents waved their money around and “bought” their kids leniency. It was a mess. The new administrators treat every student equally regardless of income. Teachers are held accountable also! During the previous principal’s reign there was no rules set in place for the teachers or parents. My child was in a class where the teacher sat on her phone ordering things for her home. Parents who bought their kids leniency would sign their kids out of school early, bring their kids to school late, have disruptive bullying children in class who never had any consequences. This has all changed in the past 1 year since we have had new leaders who actually lead! The parents who left negative feedback below must have a personal vendetta against the administrators. If your child works hard and follows the rules then they will succeed. There is no favoritism anymore. The school has implemented a wonderful STEM curriculum under our new leadership. Anywhere I go in this community and tellpeople my child goes to Oak Hills, I inevitably get positive feedback about our school. I am proud to have my 2nd child at Oak Hills. I am 100% thrilled with our administrators and curriculum offered.

New leadership here has negatively affected all aspects of the environment at this school. Bullying is on the rise here, communication between the staff and parents is non-existent. When Mr. G was still here there was a sense of community and openness that has since been demolished. There is a coldness to new leadership and an unwillingness to be partners in your child's education.

It’s frustrating to see there is no equal treatment in the class, teachers play lot of favoritism, which being unfair and under rate other children, it’s frustrating, this school have lot potential but teachers are being unfair, and also lot of bullying!

This school, as others have pointed out, has great potential. There are an awfully lot of Indians and not enough Chiefs to make it run effectively. If your child is a great - excellent learner, this is the place for you, however, if your child struggles even the least little bit, they are often singled out at as a problem child or trouble maker without so much as inquiring as to whether they may be reasons to the child's behavior. Our family fought for an entire year to get an 504 for our child, and in the end, it wasn't upheld. We had been in touch with the teacher, the vice principal, and principal and nothing ever came of them receiving the 504. We have reenrolled them back in this school for this 17/18 year in hopes for a substantial change, but will not wait long or hesitate to move them this year as they can't suffer through another year like the last one.

I would like to genuinely state Oak Hill Elementary has so much potential. Our grand daughter so far has been having a successful time during her enrollment. I believe it's important to also review that she is of two races and is fairly treated by her teachers, administration and peers. We appreciate that our child is treated the same as any other ethnicity. She loves the challenges she is given to excel. We would also like to point out that the school keeps us well informed with school events and her performance and activities. The teachers there still believe in the 'student' and we could not ask for better in a public school. Today it is so important that a child knows they are cared about and their authorities push for them to do their best academically and socially no matter what the childrens background may be. As far as, the school grounds they are kept very clean, which helps with respect and integrity for the students and employees. Oh and the drop off, the assistance/volunteers are awesome. These kids get red carpet dropoff, lol. What ever the teachers, principal and administration are doing continue to strive for the best, Oak Hill should be used as a, "Model of Excellence,'" for other schools in LAUSD

I have now had 4 children at this school. The facility is nice, running well below capacity. The teachers are happy to be there with only a couple that I would be hesitant to have assigned to my youngest. (more for personality matches than anything else) I find the front staff to be very knowledgable if a bit rigid. The new principal has started out as eager but seems to be a bit out of place. There is a high level of community involvement at the school and the parents are in general very highly educated and demanding in terms of the how the school functions and performs. A stronger personality in the principals office might be a better match. This school is one of the few that fund their own PE program and the transition into the junior high is seamless. overall I am happy with the experience that my children have had.

I moved to Valencia for the schools and Oak Hills did not disappoint. Teachers genuinely care about their students and parents are always kept informed. School is clean and well run.

My three kids LOVE this school! The teachers, staff and families are all invested in the success of the children. The atmosphere is welcoming and energetic, there are always parent volunteers on campus and I think that makes the difference in the classrooms.
