Extremely dissatisfied with the teacher and principal.A lot of promises but no ones follow through after first meeting. Lack of emotional support from this particular teacher and principal, the teacher has been with school for a decade and should be retired. Her way of teaching is not efficient compared to the teacher we had in preschool at the private place. My kid has learned significantly more during pre school than this teacher. She is rude and mean to kids. While she seemed nice in front of parents but it was all fake.

We switched elementary schools based on test scores and couldn't be happier with Valencia Valley. It seems smaller than others in the area with more of a neighborhood feel. All the teachers and staff make an effort to know your child on a first-name basis to ensure a feeling of belonging. Our child is thriving at this school and has been accepted with open arms. The teachers are focused and enthusiastic, not burned out and just going through the motions. The principal is very active and engaged. We have seen her greeting students by first name throughout the few years we have been at VV. She is making a huge effort to keep the kids engaged and parents informed. This school is focused on high standards but also on having fun with the kids. We feel fully engaged and motivated to stay at VV and grateful for the attention our child receives.

We had a terrible first year at this school. The main issues are the teachers and the principal. Both use 'yelling voices' to discipline the kids, over the top strict rules to separate friendships as discipline which had a negative affect on my son. I started to worry when my son would have anxiety in the morning to attend school. And I later found out about 4 other boys were experiencing the same. The mom's couldn't believe their big 12 year olds would break down afraid of the teacher and Principal. They do not support mindful teaching and do not coordinate with parents to resolve issues or fix problems. The principal tend to protect her teacher that's super strict with kids crying all the time and stressed out. Some kids would run to the bathroom to call their parents. The counselor was always overwhelmed. I think with Covid lockdowns and the importance of friendships and social activities these teachers and the principal purposely were hurting the children and seemed to enjoy their dictatorship. I later found out its the Principal who's imposing these absurd rules. It seems out of control with bullying and the Principal falls short on leadership and kindness towards children.Regarding the school in general - its a lovely location and community but, bullying is a big issue and the staff doesn't help. The only positive is carnival festival. I do not recommend this school. Its too stressful for children and the staff needs training on mental health and how to be kind and supportive with children.

We did not have a good experience.I do not recommend this school if your child is slightly goofy, enjoys laughing with friends and joking around at PE - seems pretty normal for 6th graders right? The Principal and her teachers are out to get them and take their childhood joy away!Over the top strict and do not support the Newhall District 'covid' mental health efforts - they yell, shame, target and discipline children by banning them to talk to each other for a few weeks to shaming them in class, the yelling was really an issue for my son since, we don't yell at home - he freezes and then breaks down at home. You have to sign a contract - sounds crazy right? Yup, and the teacher and principal seem to enjoy banning a kid to participate in an activity like pizza party - one kid made all the right answers on his homework..but, one line was not a full sentence...so, he couldn't go! unbelievable - that kid later called his parents to pick him up...crying. The kids feel stressed out - the yelling is constant from the teacher and Principal...they have a hard time handling their temper and tell the children...you're annoying - All I can say...is that even the quiet little girl breaks down and feels stressed out in the 6th grade classroom. I also have a younger daughter and she's fine with her teacher.. and loves the yard aids but, the rest of the staff needs some serious training on mental health and showing kindness towards children. I feel the fall short and also many should not even be around kids if its to push them down instead of being supportive and help them up!

My son has been going to this school since first grade ( he is now in 6th) recently he got in trouble for absolutely no reason. Some kid stole his friend's chips, and he tried to get it back for him only for his friend to tell on him because he thought that he stole it, and because of this he told on him and he got a red slip( Which means you go into the office) Even if he was in the wrong I feel as if it was a stupid reason to send a kid to the office, the funny thing is a girl has punched my son in the face, pour milk on his brand new shoes, and even almost ripping his shirt and she didn't even a punishment, all they did was talk to her about expressing her emotions. And my son got written up his friend who told on him came into the office admitting that he made a mistake and my son had done nothing but tried to protect his food, the office didn't care. Not to mention the lady with white hair that's behind the front desk treated my son and his friends as if they just killed a kid! And one time a friend of my child got his necklace's ripped apart by another kid, his mom attempted to talk to the principal about making the kids parents to pay for the cost of repair, she did didn't do a single thing until she said she was going to speak with her boss. Overall this school is amazing but the staff make it horrible.

I love, love, Love this school! The office staff, yard staff, and teachers are all welcoming and smiling all the time. The parents are kind and helpful to one another as well. My child is flourishing here. I am a transfer parent and I don’t regret the longer drive to this school every morning. It’s definently worth it

I have been coming to this school for 10 years now. My children thrived at Valencia Valley and continue to in Jr. High and High school because of their base education from VV. My youngest is going into 3rd grade and we couldn't be happier with teachers and staff! Teachers will listen to parents and do what they can to meet the needs of a child. This is a fantastic school with great support!

I can't say enough good things about this school. We came from what was considered an excellent school in LA (well off area with great test scores) and I think this school is leaps and bounds a better place to send my child. The teachers are concerned and caring, the front office staff is warm and friendly, and the administration is helpful and accommodating. My son is so much happier here compared to his old school. He also says his peers are very nice and "there aren't any bullies at this school like my old school." I think the only improvement could be maybe an online portal or other way parents could find ways to volunteer (especially us working parents with narrower availability), but that may just be because we are newer here (been here less than a year). Excellent school!!

I have 2 daughters that have been attending this school since kindergarten and now they are in 2nd and 3rd grade. I absolutely love this school. The teachers are fantastic, especially Mrs. Culberhouse, she is firm, but kind. My girls love going to school everyday. And the best part is the wonderful principle, Mr.hintz, he is kind, caring, and available when there are any concerns. I highly recommend this school. Plus they have great music and arts programs.

My younger sister started at this school in 1988. I am pleased to say that this school is as amazing now as it was then! The teachers, speech pathologist, office personnel, cafeteria staff, crossing guards even.... all are so thoughtful and helpful. This is such a far cry from the district we just left. I am thrilled to have my son at this school.

I have been at this school for 8 years now and can't say enough wonderful things about it. We have had amazing teachers and the principal is great, very open to discussion on matters of your child. Great neighborhood and parent involvement is huge at this school. Love it!!!!
