This school has such a “family” atmosphere. Most of the faculty and staff have been here for years, and they know all students by name. My child has thrived here.

Our child has attended SMS for 2 years, and we could not be more grateful for the bonds she has formed with these brilliant and compassionate educators and faculty members. We moved to Sterlington 4 years ago to invest in a better education and future for our children, and it is hands down, one of the best decisions we’ve ever made!

I have one grandson at the middle school at this time and have found it to be a positive carryover from the elementary. Very pleased with this school. My husband and I are both retired educators from another parish and we feel very positive for our grandchildren who will attend this school.

After our child finished Sterlington Elementary with excellent grades and high LEAP scores, our child had a much different experience at Sterlington Middle. Compared to the elementary, the middle school is a "looser" type of operation. We ended up pulling our child from the middle school after the middle school principal yelled at and threatened to sue our child's pediatrician in response to a medical recommendation letter that the pediatrician sent to the school in an effort to have the school comply with our child's IEP accommodations. Our pediatrician was very upset over the principles actions and felt that the school was not a healthy environment for our child. The principle also acted in a very sophomoric and unprofessional manner to myself and my wife. Even after reporting these issues to parish school administration, that principle is still at the school. I do not recommend this school.
