Bastrop High is a pathetic school. The whole school system in Bastrop LA is pathetic because it is run by stupid people. Advanced placement kids went a whole year without a teacher. The principal is never there. The school is filthy. The superintendent doesn't care about the system or the kids. The assistant principals are incompetent. Football players are given free grades. Kids roam the halls screaming and cursing. Need I say more. Move somewhere where your kids don't have to go there.

Unfortunately I have three kids that go here as I really have no other choice. A school especially a high school is a microcosim of the community in which iit is located. Bastrop is a small town consisting mostly of hypocritical "Sunday" Christians intolerant of the religious and non religious views of others. Because of this the majority of the school's populace is going to have the same attitude. Individually you have some good teachers and students who try to make it better, but in my opinion the school is just bad.

I observed the bullying of Damon Fowler. Your school is a disgrace. Having broken the law, you should be sued.

I'm obviously not going to rate a school that both encouraged and then failed to stop (knowing full well that it was planned) to stop unconstitutional prayer during graduation. This kind of negligence costs tax payers millions of dollars every year! Its a waste of time and resources and is completely inappropriate. Shame on this school's administers for failing our kids and failing to honor our countrie's foundational laws.

Seriously, Why not slap a NUN in the door and be done with it? You want to be religious and all, brother please!

Move, just move to a different school district - you do not want your children "educated" here.

This school is the only high school in bastrop besides a private school in the area, so if you live here you won't have much of a choice but to let your kids attend. My advice: Do Not Move There

Amazing how horrible the school has been handling the graduation prayer debacle. They were even warned. I'm just happy they'll end up getting sued, because this cannot stand.

School wich has shown to have little respect for the united states constitution. Don't send you're child here if you are interested in keeping it's civil liberties.

The administration and faculty should be ashamed of themselves. These people have ignored their responsibility to the taxpayers of their community ,and more importantly to follow the law of the Constitution, by endorsed a divisive religious practice which will, unfortunately, result in a significant lawsuit. If I lived in this community, I would be outraged.

I cannot give a good rating to a school that threatens the well being of its students by not handling controversial matters with dignity and discretion.

Disgusting bigoted and unconstitutional backwards Louisiana education at it's finest. As a Local Resident, It's a great shame to see this in our community.

Disgusting and intolerant school. People of other religions must "tolerate" what we believe is total nonsense, yet when people express other beliefs then they are mocked. First amendment, everyone.

Unfair treatment for students who stand up for their rights! They don't support the constitution and ostracize anyone who thinks outside the majority.

Schools that openly support bigotry and hatred on this scale should not exist. What this school, it's faculty, and student body did is deplorable.

Confidential matters are treated with an utter disdain for delicacy--the chief incident of such in question, which occurred on May 20, 2011, has already been described in full by other reviewers. In essence, illicit actions were carried out, called out by one student (in private), and this student was almost immediately publicized by the staff of the school, and the action proceeded as planned anyway. As a side effect, the student in question has been ostracized by his community as well, as the action which violated the law was a mass prayer, which almost nobody disagreed with. Food for thought.

Horrid teachers and administration. If you are considering moving here...don't. The way students are treated is abhorrent.

Not a very good Government curriculum... they don't seem to understand the US Constitution at all
