I began the 2022-2023 school year with high hopes for this school with a stellar reputation that has LONG PRECEDED the current principal. But, my high hopes for my academicaally gifted child soon turned sour when ALL it seemed the school wanted to do was find problems with my non-disruptive and honor roll student EVEN if a problem NEVER existed (and then my child's very respectful and quiet demeanor also magically became a problem in the eyes of the school). There are SERIOUS issues with bullying on the part of both the staff and students as well as EXTREMELY SERIOUS health and safety concerns that the school takes every opportunity to sweep under the rug (and the problems can be traced to the atrocious and despicable behavior by the person in charge of the school). The assistant prinicipals are good but they, unfortunately, came over with the person in charge and must try to often smooth things over. And, whoever gave the review about how the school was ill-equipped to deal with students with IEPS was spot on but the craziest thing is that the school will want to put MORE kids on IEPS for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING (even handwriting)! It seems they want perfect zombies for students and if the child does not fit the nonsense zombie mode...the student is deemed to be a problem! And, what's even wilder is the fact that these "professionals" making IEP and disability diagnosis recommendations are NOT healthcare professionals or, even, at the very least, a PhD in psychology, so please take EVERY opportunity to call them out on their nonsense opinions! And, if a child is unhappy and having his or her spirit broken...PLEASE listen because the child's feelings are VALID!!! In addition, students have gotten screwed by ridiculous amounts of homework/classwotk that is rarely checked along with the unjustified withholding of earned points on tests and report cards (and good luck trying to find out a freaking reason why because the teacher will take no accountability and deflect like the rest of the school administration). Lastly, I have noticed some thinly veiled racist practices by the school (ex: grouping the majority of Chinese and Indian children in classrooms) so be weary if you are a minority or even look like a minority because you may be treated differently as well as rather poorly .

Some teachers are wonderful and some shouldn’t teach at all! The HW is outrageous and isn’t in the kids best interest. Too much pressure w/ hours and hours per 3 kids and 16 school years here. Tons of fund raising and I haven’t seen any real upgrades in the school. PTA is amazing. Drop off and pick up is a hazardous. Parent meetings are very disorganized. It really went down hill after Covid. Some of the teachers and paras should resign bc belittling lil kids is a disgrace. Needless to say we won’t continue to attend going forward. We’ll miss the few gems of teachers!

PS 30 is more than just a school. It is a community my children are lucky to be a part of. The children all feel as equals and the staff truly dedicates themselves to each individual child. The PTA goes above and beyond to make each event embrace the school community. I am so proud of the teachers and staff for all their hard work.

teribl;e I recommemd going to ps8 Lindenwood rode the have a great program called the horizon program learing disiblteys and autism they make it fun and lerning with trips and shows to artb resses music and the principle is welcoming and friendly they play music on the loudspeaker rvery moring and everyone is treated equily the I went their from 4 grade to 5 grade before this school I went to ps 30

Awful. If you, as a parent, aren’t part of the pta, your child suffers. If your child is special needs they will be treated like garbage.

PS 30 is a great school! My daughter has had wonderful teachers and is doing great in all her classes. She has learned alot. If you have questions or concerns the teachers and staff are very accomodating. The principal and AP are great. All the activities and fundraising events are also fun to be involved with. Bottom line, Great School!

simply as our old school motto stated "A Great Place to Grow" and now we use the motto " Leaping to the Top' since we have chosen a jaguar as our school mascot. The school is a very welcoming place to learn and grow. We cherish each child as if they were our own. We have made great strides in making our school a warm environment and THE PLACE to learn. We have a very dedicated staff and parent population. We are a multi generational school with a lot of parent involvment. Our Parents have monthly fndraisers supporting the school in each and every step of the way. We do not receive frederal funding as most others do so we work hard together to get what the children and staff need. We are very supportive to each other and work very hard day and night to make PS 30 tgthe place we call home!

MR. Ihne is very unprofessional tried explaining my child is in danger and he turns and changes her para with out notifying me and then tells me he is not budging and can do as he want cause he is acting principal.

Time for Spina to go!!!!!!!!!!! no room for the 4 & 5 grade since Pre-k . the 4 and 5 grade need to be outside due to no room and staff in he building. Such a shame. Do the right thing Spina and leave our once great school!!!!

This past yearsssss, PS30 isn't as good as it use to be. Is it due to change of principal?? And this year PS30 started Pre-K, throw the 4th and 5th grade outside the school yard in early cold morning till class start. Cold,windy,rain,snow or shine- it doesn't matter, poor kids be outside waiting due to school doesn't have enough space to put kids in before class start. So I don't understand why PS30 open for Pre-K since it doesn't have enough spacing for student to stay indoor!!!
