My experience at the school over the past 4 years have been very positive. I have a great relationship with my children’s teachers and principals alike. Everyone is respectful and want to see my children succeed. I would recommend the school as as best place to learn!

Not at all impress more concerned with the chorus then the education. Everyone was excited about funding but what good is the funding if your children can't have state exam or capable of reading and writing

Poor! Poor! Poor!!!! My next step is reaching out to DOE to report my experiences with the administration. One more thing I need to point out. The school dismisses anytime between 2:20p and 2:50p; yes you have to wait 30 minutes for your child to be released. All the while, you have to park 3 blocks away from the school because the administration calls the precinct around the corner to start ticketing vehicles...what a coincidence. I bet they don't do that on the other side of the island...Additionally, if you are late twice, your child is sent home with a notice stating that authorities (ACS and NYPD) will be notified of child neglect because you are late. What a strain they place on minority parents! I bet schools in Tottenville and Richmondtown aren't engaged in such repercussions!!!!!! PS 22 needs a new administration and bring diversity to the staff because it is clear that they do not have the best interest of the children nor the community in mind.

Don't understand why comments feel teachers are ineffective. All four of my children have attended this school - one has graduated, another will graduate this year. Every teacher they've had has been superior both technically and emotionally. But as a parent you have to be "involved". If you're willing to work with the teacher they'll work with you. That's been my experience. The New Testing system has hit the students and teachers really hard. I think a lot of parents expect the teachers to do it all, and that's not realistic. School work doesn't stop at 2:35; it has to continue at home.

Although I live in another state, just watching the PS22 Chorus love what they are doing is enough for me to rate this school high. The support that Gregg Breinberg must receive from the administration shows in the results he has with the children. Watching music programs from other schools on Youtube, and then watching this chorus shows that the school deserves praise. The chorus is possibly the best 5th grade public school chorus in the United States.

This school is AMAZING!I LOVE the teacher,staff,PTA,administrators,assistant principals,and principal!They are doing a AMAZING job on keeping kids intersted in learning,safe in school,and keeping learning FUN letting kids WANT to learn!I was just about to graduate from this school and be the seniors.Until my dad has to work somewhere else.I kept on BEGGING my dad to stay.!!!Now I am graduating from another school.It was a great school but not as good as PS22.I kept on wondering did the school change?

It isn't a terrible school I did love the teachers they really love what they do and it shows! The negatives about this school are overcrowding, the principal isn't the greatest she's very sweet and cares about the kids but doesn't have the backbone required for such a school the assistant principals aren't helpful and actually rude to parents. I won't say our experience was terrible here but the school needs an overhaul in administration to make it better!

Principal needs to go!!!! She is very sloppy and seems discombobulated at times. She always let the PTA steals the money from the school and they get away with because she just completely sweeps it under the rug. Shameful!!!

I think the school has a good PTA, and a good staff in spite of the administration. The principal and some of the assistant principals do not belong there. The school still ranks a "C." This would not have occurred with the former principal, Mrs. C.
