I spent my whole life up until 8th grade here. I am half asian and during my (about) 10 years here, I have experienced and witnessed so much racism and hate. Slurs were constantly being thrown around and a racist drawing depicting a stereotypical gang member was hung up. Special needs children were always made the butt of the joke and so were other kids who were socially awkward or didn't get along with others as well. I failed the SHSAT and did not get into any of my choices and I had no chance to take regents-level classes early on and get ahead in high school. I was offered to take the Algebra II regents, but none of my teachers prepared me for it. This is affecting me as I prepare for the SAT. I also remember being picked up by my parents, crying about teachers losing their temper with me over simple misunderstandings. From the faith aspect, it wasn't great. I remember failing religion exams because none of the material was in the textbook, only in the notes that you had to handwrite if you didn't have a printer (and they wouldn't print them for you!) and being pressured into lying during confession because I (an honest 10 year old who legitimately never did anything) was pressured into going to confession by my teachers. Also, you're forced to take italian which isn't helpful in the slightest. Unfortunately, the only genuine teacher I met (who I keep in contact with) has left due to the environment being so toxic. I'm not sure if many will see this review, but I'd like to save some children from the hardship had experienced and am currently experiencing due to my academic setback.

I am a school building leader who cares about students social and emotional needs. Unfortunately as a product of divorce our paths led to BSS. It is a nightmare. The school is run by privileged parents and a principal who plays whatever side is in his face. He has created an unhealthy and unsafe space where kids cant learn . Due to the abusive systems in place at this school my son needs therapy. The school created a culture of hate and destruction as parents entitlement takes the lead. Since punishment is given to only those who accept it in this school my som has been forced to believe he os evil. I am here to tell you dont do it:Catholic schools are archaic and destructive.

I have to say that I cannot understand the negative comments about Blessed Sacrament. My experience there has been excellent. Both my daughter and son are in their third year now, and I can see they are both making great strides as students and are developing personally as well. My daughter has cried at the end of both school years. My son...well...I wouldn't go that far, but he is doing well there. And they really have worked with him and looked out for him, as he is on the autism spectrum. We've seen terrific strides in his personal development.Honestly, Blessed Sacrament is at the top of the list on reasons we are staying in Staten Island because of how our kids are doing there. If they didn't like it, or we didn't think they were doing well, we would be much more likely to move off Island.

Blessed Sacrament is a wonderful school. Having children in various grades I can say that over all my children are very happy and love everything about the school. Especially the principal, he truly loves these kids as if they were his own. He's understanding of every child's individual personality and needs, but is a strong and fare disciplinary who helps them grow both academically and in character. My children love it here and can't wait for school to start.

I cannot say enough positive things about the school. The faculty is wonderful and the principal is an effective and respected leader.

I was initially so excited to register my kid to this school as a alternative to public school, mostly the religious aspect. But, yes i said it a complete nightmare, teachers has no patience and that could be because there isn't enough teachers per class. There isn't anything special academically for advanced kids, they are stock in the class bored.Not to mention the FAKE moms, they stand around in groups of 3 or more and gossip about everythink under the sky,what a shame. Really, you would think being Catholic you'll have an open friendly disposition, NOPE! totally opposite.I hope i get into the school i requested so we can trasfer come September.Honestly biggest mistake and I'll be darn if my child suffers because of those bitter moms and their check contribution that makes them feel some how entitle.I should have done more research before but hopefully this review would help another mom in the future if you are a stuck up person and love forward to being judged then this is the school for you.

Went to this school a number of years ago, would not recommend it to anyone. This school protects bullies and lets cliques of gossiping moms thrive, at the expense of many of the kids who go here. Parents don't pay tuition for our kids to get bullied because some mothers think this is "Mean Girls" and don't know how to raise their kids the right way. The administration is spineless and won't stand up to the culture of bullying that exists here... almost as spineless as the parents who protect their bully children because they're too weak to change the way they parent them. An abysmal learning environment for any child, this school also does a terrible job of upholding the values of the Catholic church.

I graduated a few years ago from Blessed Sacrament. BSS was such a wonderful foundation for me when I went to high school. Some of the teachers were wonderful, definitely not all of them, but you will find that with any school. I feel that the staff and administration are very caring. My experience here was extraordinary and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The asst principle lacks concern about bulling. The principal is week, if your child isn't into sports they won't be welcomed by faculty or staff. The teacher made my son lie and write a paper on how he made friends, after he said he didn't .

this school is horrible. i took all of my children out of that school because they dont care about the children that go here. they only care if you donate money, only then will they be kind.

Probably the" WORST" parochial grammar school on Staten Island ! Grammar school is the foundation that leads to higher goals and achievement! This school has a weak leader in its PRINCIPAL and ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL who have just given away the school to its "MOTHERS GUILD" new term for the ages. When people no longer see the value in a parochial school education they will and have gone elsewhere!! Growing up the PRIEST, PRINCIPAL and FACUTLY ran the school parent interaction was present but with boundries and the line wasn't crossed!! The schools did good, teachers taught in the classroom and outside as a guiding force in the lives of their students! This has been replaced here with parents many of whom have no educational background, business background and basically run the school! NO PTA OR FORUM TO DISCUSS ISSUES OR FINANCES! The school is in debt, and nickel and dime fund raising has taken away from education! a four day school week not in line with what is mandated by the CHURCH is in place as is its ridiculous FEES that dont even add up PAPER FEE, PLAYGROUND FEE,BOOK FEE! There are excellent choices this is not one of them TO MANY QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ANSWERED AND WILL NOT BE

i have never seen a catholic school like this one. the parents, grandparents and most of all staff cannot do enough to make the experiences these children have, memorable ones.They all go above and beyond.
