Our overall experience at Weller has been great. The kids are rewarded for hard work, supported when they need it, engaged and enriched by genuine teachers, and cared for on a community level beyond what any other school we've attended has done. Before Weller, our kids were bogged down with homework, unhappy and mediocre in their studies, and we had no desire to be involved but now as PTO parents, with kids who are thriving and succeeding beyond the score charts, we couldn't be happier or more grateful for Weller Elementary.

Without a complete management restructuring my son will never go back worst school ever. They should shut it down.

I find this school awful personally myself. I have full custody of my child and she doesn't see her father due to numerous reasons and he came to her school yesterday and ate lunch with her and grilled her the whole time. Robin the secretary told me it wasn't her job to play referee and she did NOT have to call and notify me. This is the 2nd time he has been up there he is not on any of her school paperwork or anything. This school is supposed to protect our children and they are failing to do so with mine. Every day I take them to school I fear for them I fear they won't be protected I fear he will just come and take my daughter. Its my parental obligation to keep my kids safe and them going to Weller elementary I don't get it and I don't have piece of mind. I am moving out of Weller district and will be transferring my kids to a better school

My son started his Springfield public school education at Weller, and he loved it. His kindergarten teacher was Anita Van Gorp, and she was wonderful in meeting his needs as a gifted student while still understanding the social challenges of asynchronous development of gifted students. This school does an excellent job with its PYP program. Teachers were also very good about communicating with us.

I must say that after transferring my son from the Nixa elementary district I am very displeased with the level of education my son is receiving here...the work that is being done at Weller is almost two years behind the same grades in Nixa. When attempting to address this concern with my sons teacher it took two months before they would even call return my call...

This is a great school. They focus on the children and helping them succeed with encouragement instead of putting them down. My daughter transferred here after leaving a very poor school in the district that was rated at an 8 by this site and has been happier, more successful and challenged to excel more at Weller than in her previous 2 schools since kindergarten...GO PRIDE Panthers!
